Hearing Witsel is now done and announced this aft, or more likely tomorrow. Mata is about 90% done and barring any disasters once he is back from holiday tomorrow should be announced early next week if not before. Looks like Rom is staying and Stones 50/ 50 but if thyy both stay only a keeper needed for me!

Depends what formation RK going to play. But i think we need another RB and one striker at the very least. don't forget we have lost Pienaar, Osman, Hibbo, hopefully McGeady. And we really don't want to be depending on Kone or Niasse if Rom got injured.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 15:07:10
Got some great kids coming through though Dave who look miles ahead of Ozzie etc, they will be hungry and having watched them a few times they look hungry too mate, defo a strike unless of course Niasse feels refreshed finally, Ron will know in 2 weeks so would not be expecting a striker for a bit yet, maybe towards the end of the transfer window

Sounds good Rich, hope you are right.

3.) 05 Jul 2016 15:52:51
Agree re the kids Murf and hopefully RK will give them a chance. But those i am aware of are mainly midfielders so still think we need RB and i'm not convinced Niasse will ever be 'refreshed' enough to make it in the EPL. Hopefully the real Niasse turns up this year.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 16:31:11
defo a RB mate, missed that one, some competition for Coleman

Im sure the same players will be totally different next season than how they played last season, Ron is apparently a beast meister in training, Ross should look slimmer and we could get 60 minutes out of Delboy, to be honest I don't want him playing that well until that stupid buy back clause Barcelona have installed has passed, he certainly has something and with the right manager could be classy indeed

Mata is the one for me mate, I hope this rumour is not the usual press garbage because he is quality

Im looking forward to the kids playing next season especially Tom Davies, seen him a few times and looks fearless and could be extra special, hope he pushes on now as Ron will be looking at them all over the next few weeks.

I'll acknowledge this sounds unlikely before I begin but mate in Italy has said that Napoli are resigned to losing Higuian and are very keen on Lukaku and swap rumours are starting to circulate.

Even though Higuian is 6 years older all things considered that sounds like good business! Not heard anything in English press or anything tho?

1.) 04 Jun 2016 10:23:20
He won't want to come to us. I understand the rumour Rich but I think its one of the more far fetched ones.

2.) 04 Jun 2016 10:26:03
I've heard from 2 separate people on the fringes of Everton that Rooney could be returning to Everton this summer. One even stated that talks have been going on for 6 weeks between the two parties. Could be a good move to bring on players like Barkley, and also help get Everton the brand stronger overseas once more.

3.) 04 Jun 2016 10:51:08
To be fair I've heard the same rumour and posted last week.

{Ed002's Note - It is true that Napoli are interested in Lukaku but a move there is unlikely. There is no chance of an exchange for Higuain. There are no talks about a return to Everton with Rooney or his representatives.}

4.) 04 Jun 2016 10:57:38
Swap deals are very rare.

5.) 04 Jun 2016 16:04:58
I think Mourinho will keep him and not sure if Wayne wants to come back if i am honest.

03 Jun 2016 20:05:07
We're apparently interested in Wiljnaldum, Koeman likes him as well and Saints are also interested.

Would be a great signing for me!

Rich1878

{Ed002's Note - You will need to battle Roma for him.}

Apparently RM has said that Kev and Rom are going to miss the start of the season, this can't be true?! Starting the season with Naismith and a half fit Kone sounds like a recipe for failure.

Rich1878

1.) Worse than that. Kone not fit for weeks yet

2.) No, Mirallas and Rom are going to miss Paderborn match.

3.) 09 Aug 2014 10:13:16
They won't be playing today but we have a friendly against an unknown opponent Tuesday behind closed doors, but reports suggest otherwise that they will be fit for next week

4.) Rom and mirrallas getting extra week off due to World Cup

5.) 09 Aug 2014 10:54:11
Yea, because they need the rest as they played every minute of each match. Sheesh, laughable innit

6.) It was hardly like Belgium won the World Cup! One "behind closed doors" friendly doesn't sound like great preparation! Let's all pray that they are both starting against Leicester!

7.) Quote from Martinez- “For Romelu, it will depend on how he adapts to work from now until August 16, but remember every player is a bit different and Romelo has been training for 10-15 days on his own. We will see…We will never take a risk. If a player is not fully fit, we are not going to use him for 90 minutes, that’s for sure….After this weekend, I would consider Muhamed Besic, Ross Barkley, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines all to be fully fit, so it will only be Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas who might not start the season.”

8.) Besic looks a good signing can't say to much because haven't seen the game today but hoping he's like Joe Parkinson but then again might have a touch of Trevor Steven with his touch

James Rodriguez would be incredible, perhaps with the Stones money not impossible though?

From what I've been told today Mata seems quite likely but Witsels performance at the Euros may mean we struggle to get him.

Goalkeeper remains arguably out biggest signing this summer though, last night should have halved Joe Harts price!

Rich1878

1.) 28 Jun 2016 15:12:21
Not to be pessimistic, whilst trying to be realistic, I cannot see James coming here at all. Obviously we will be making changes to our wage structure but I cannot see us paying the wages he would want. Think mata would be more realistic and would be a big enough signing to show intent but I'm not convinced that we will go in for him too much. Would not take Hart at the minute for anything more than 10m and even then. in my opinion there are other keepers that would be a much better target.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 16:12:20
Alright cropper lad. just a quick one what about evans performances at the euros you have to say he was fantastic. Also Mr koeman get that Steve Davis fella in pronto. as for goalie has to be welsh keeper Hennessey.

3.) 28 Jun 2016 16:42:40
I will admit that Evans has played really well. An I still like Davis but I don't see them as particular improvements over who we have. Would i want ross or stones dropped for them? Probably not. Although both would be good squad players (more so Davis though) . However I do really like hennessey. Not sure he would be top of my list but certainly worth looking at.

4.) 28 Jun 2016 22:42:12
Oh I agree I would not want them replacing john or Ross I think evans would be excellent back up and seven Davies could slot into midfield in any capacity. others who tickled my fancy at the euros were pelle for Italy. also the boy Hendrick from the republic team was very neat and tidy. lastly I see one man not on the England job list. Michael O'Neill there's a man with a plan topped r group and an og away from the quarter finals. bias alert 😂😂😂.

03 Jun 2016 14:29:07
Koeman looks like he should be a sure thing (or as close as there is to such a thing) . Anyone heard any more about Hart? Top class keeper has to be the priority once he new man is in. Lots of rumours in Holland about this Jansenn as Roms replacement, goal
Scoring record is excellent but anyone seen much of him?

Rich1878

1.) 03 Jun 2016 16:08:17
I remember when Nigel Martyn was a sure thing first time and ended up at Leeds, be careful guys not to get complacent!

2.) 03 Jun 2016 19:24:51
Martyn was nailed on to sign before he went to Leeds wakka but that was down to the then chairman agent Johnson! For anyone who doesn't know where his Park Hampers HQ was, trust me when I say it was in a run down area in the north of Birkenhead. To put it in perspective, in and around the same time frame, an estate that his premises were behind was named as the worst council estate in the UK. The site of PH itself was a bit shabby too. So I can't blame him for darting to Yorkshire, just glad we got him in the end. Why PJ asked him to go to there instead of Goodison or the training ground is a mystery, unless PJ just didn't want to spend cash on him! I don't think FM will make any mistakes of that calibre mate!

Martinez has confirmed in an interview that Atsu is sorted and will be finalised this week. Would love Nolito or Bacca but being realistic maybe another loan and Ben Arfa would see us with a decent squad- as long as the loan is a striker. Kone did score 14 goals in the Premier League in a poor team so hoping he surprises a few of us!

Rich1878

1.) Just be mindful that we can only name 17 non-homegrown players aged over 21 (born on or after 1st January 1993 for the 2014-15 season) in our Premier League squad AND for Europe we have to include players under 21 if they've been with us for less than two years - which means players like Lukaku and Stones (even though he's homegrown).

04 Aug 2014 14:15:49
Martinez has today said we want one more signing "before the Leicester game" as appose to one more before the end of the window. I have a feeling that once Van Gaal has decided who is surplus to requirements and perhaps how seeious their interest in McCarthy is we will have a busy deadline day again.

Looked very good in the Euro's, much more expansive than McArthy, has defensive steel with blocks and interceptions with significantly more attaching threat. Overpriced? Almost certainly but an excellent player and also a statement of intent!

Fraser Forster must be looking and thinking that window hasn't even opened yet and Saints have already lost Koeman, Wanyama and Mane (and in all likelihood Pelle) . Surely he would be interested - though I imagine the price tag would be huge.

Forster would be great, I wonder whether Saints will insist on a clause whereby we can't sign any of their players particularly given how many they have lost last couple of seasons!

I'd love Walcott, Ashley Williams at Swansea may be a bit old by top defender and what about Wiljnadum at Newcastle?

This is what Monchi is for, even better than Southamptons undeniably excellent set up. For me going out will be be McGeady, Niasse, Pienaar, Hibbert, Osman, Lukaku, Mori.

Ideal world? Hart, Walcott, Jansenn, Van Dijk, Rooney, bony.

What's everyone's ideal targets?
