It isn't true it's Malaga playing silly buggers and trying to be difficult. They're not happy about the low release clause and are doing everything possible to be awkward.

If the release clause states a price then that's the price it's in the contract, personally I'm starting to think Sandro is having second thoughts maybe going to hang around until January to get his move to A. Madrid I hope I'm wrong but Malaga can't play hard ball if the release clause has been met the only thing that can be holding it up is the player and his agent.

The person or persons who left that disgusting cowardly message close to RB's home have damaged EFC permanently. Just imagine in the future, managers or players considering signing for our club may think. If I have a bad start or a bad run of form the fans will come looking for me at my home. Er no thanks I'll give it a miss. Rafa wouldn't have been my first choice but I don't get to choose anyway. If he does decide to sign for us (even after all the disgusting nonsense from a tiny minority of fans) I'll give him 100% support. Please small minority just think about what your actions are doing to our club.

It could easily have been a disgruntled Liverpool fan who’s not happy with the potential appointment.

Big Sam job done - but another wasted season! Silva appointed so please let's give him time to fix the mess at our club. Things won't happen overnight and it will be difficult to attract quality players, a lot of fans will have huge expectations but it may take two seasons to fix the squad and get where we want to be, all I'm saying is let's not get on the managers back if we don't hit the ground running, we need to be patient and give the new DoF and manager time to put things right.

I think everyone knew we were in for a 5 year ride when FM came into the club.
I'm not sure too many fans have unrealistic expectations.
For fear of repeating ourselves, having a team that plays to win is progress enough.
Yes a wasted year but boy hasn't FM proved he is open to listening to us the fans and he is capable of fixing and learning from previous mistakes. And that is priceless for a long happy future for us, the club and the owner.
Welcome Silva and good luck lad.
I for 1 am looking forward to my Saturday afternoons again.
Hopefully next week we can start talking new players and never mention this shambles again.
I don't even want to know about any compensation or costs to this saga. Moved on.

Being honest when they appointed Koeman I thought it was the best appointment since Lord Kendall. It was not to be. I was dreading next season in case Allardyce was still in charge. Now I am excited, so excited I can't wait for the world cup to finish so we can crack on with next season :-) Great to see that not only have we gone for a young manager, but also got ourselves a successful DOF. I can see only good coming from this as the club move forward to a new era. I wonder how many Liverpool fans winced at Shankly, Man U fans at Ferguson, Arsenal fans at Wenger. We all know what happened next. It can happen here too. The next dynasty is waiting to happen.

Good to see some positivity on here now. I'll be feeling the best I've felt all season on my way to the game tonight because I think there will be a positive response from the team selected for the game and we'll get the win we desperately need. Big Sam is the guy we wanted but he'll organise the team, stop the rot and keep us up. If that happens we'll get the manager we want next summer but that will only happen if there is a total clear out at board level and Moshri gets in a team who will advise him properly and the club run properly and professionally from top to bottom. We won't get the class manager we crave until the club becomes professional again. Let's all get behind our team now and finish as high as we can. We the supporters are EVERTON and not the players or managers, they come and go for a wage and will never support our club. It's us who make the difference and we should never withdraw our support. So COYB and let's all get behind our club tonight!

If the Team is Rooney up front as a striker then he better stay there, the problem has been with Rooney in the side the other players constantly look for him, Rooney himself will not stay where he is put, resulting in nobody up front to take the ball. Any negative result at half time and I fully expect Sam to be in the dressing room.
{Ed025's Note - im afraid rooney will do what he wants and not what he is told to do DFS, he is a law unto himself and will pop up in various positions which for me disrupts the side, but i have a feeling that sam will kow-tow to his experience and play him anyway mate..

Anyone else wondering if EFC haven't really changed regarding transfer spending? Start of the window looked good with a number of RK targets being brought in. However, things seem to have stalled; with Gareth Barry departure imminent Everton's net spend moves to around 5 to 6 mil depending on what we get for him, McCarthy going could potentially move us into net profit - possibly 50 mil profit if RB sale goes through? We seem to be dragging our feet over 5 mil for the GS deal? Call me cynical but this looks like the same old Everton to me.

With more to come, I reckon as well. Left CB/ RB cover, a big target man and with Sigurdson that is the three that Koeman alluded to. So yes if that happens we will certainly be a much stronger side. One thing if the 45 mill is true, then once again either the Papers (probably) have been wildly wide of the mark or something more than the fee was holding the deal up. We will know by Thursday.

Didn't realise BK and the board visited this site! Looks like my post did the trick;) Watch how quickly now the RB and JMc deals go through. Yes I agree the team is improving but just making a point about the balance sheet. We still need proven goal scorer and defensive cover so I think there may be a few more players out first.

Just to put this into perspective. We once had a summer of selling Arteta and getting Straquilersky and Drenthe on loan. Now compare that nightmare to buying a Man U captain, an Ajax captain, the best young English keeper, and possibly one of the best young centre backs in England. An up an coming Barcelona graduate, Gylfi freaking Sigurdsson, a Boston load of under we talent plus more to come. So yeah, same old Everton. Now please STOP.

Good post floats. The American investors see the PL as a cash cow just like their own baseball and football franchises! Greed is the best word to describe them. We now know GS wants a piece of the blue revolution so we should wait until deadline day and offer even less than 40 mil (just like Spurs will offer 25M for RB) . Those greedy Yanks will rather pocket 35M for GS on deadline day than get nothing and end up with a player who thinks he's been badly treated by Swansea. Failing that we will get him for a more realist price in Jan window.

Good post GB. Let's give the guy a chance, he's the right manager for the task ahead and he may yet surprise a few doubters. If he parks the bus for the Derby and we beat Liverpool 0-1 he will be hero worshiped! Let's welcome Sam Lee as well, he played and coached at Liverpool years ago, so what! He has good credentials as a coach and tons of experience. We've signed players from Liverpool in the past and Peter Reid was a red until he seen the light, maybe SL will convert too! As long as they both work hard in Evertons interest we should get behind them both and keep supporting our EVERTON no matter what.

Just wondering lads, I've seen the reports too that RL has agreed personal terms. If EFC have not agreed a fee with CFC yet then how have they been allowed to speak with the player? Surely CFC have "tapped up" the player?
{Ed025's Note - everton have not complained so the club must be compliant with the approach from chelsea RB, they seem to be doing things properly and it looks like we are resigned to losing him mate..

Thanks for your reply Smt666. I agree the board should not interfere with team selection. The only reason I mentioned it was because I had heard rumours from a number of independent sources that the board were actively still trying to get RB to sign an extension. This may possibly conflict with what RK has already said about the player on national media. For what it's worth I'd like to see the lad sign the extension, get his head down and work hard to prove all the doubters wrong and that would include RK.
