Tom Davies could leave due to fans criticism. Barkley went through a similar time . Davies hasn't performed as we would and I'm sure he'd have liked . His attitude is never questioned . At Sheffield on Boxing day he was one of if not our best player . Confidence plays a huge part in a players ability to perform at their best . To hear groans from the crowd when he receives the ball helps no one. Our home grown players suffer most from criticism, such a pity we turn on our own .

Yea been loads of groaning from the crowd this season hasn't there megsey.

2.) 29 Dec 2020 08:22:43
Barkley had to leave because he cocked up his private life and needed to move out. Davies has got a very good game in him, but too many poor ones. Having an affinity for homegrown is understandable but it won’t bring success. If winning things requires having the best players who are from outside the city or didn’t come through the academy then fine by me. Not ideal, but I’ve waited too long for silverware.

3.) 29 Dec 2020 09:50:09
Great post Ace, I have an affinity for it in fact.
Seriously though off pitch exploits and on pitch shortcomings are not comparable are they?!

4.) 29 Dec 2020 11:10:09
Barkley had enough problems off the pitch, the cctv video of him brawling was one of many, so the crowd was the least of his problems! TD has been unlucky imo. He's never really nailed down one position that he can call his own which has seen him being used in a variety of roles, a jack of all trades but master of none. He's had more managers in his short career than most and none of them have got him to bed down in one position. There is talent there he just needs nurturing and, after our last game, why not have him in a more defensive role? Rather than showing him the door, let's see uf he can do a job there if and when required?

5.) 29 Dec 2020 12:04:46
Moans an groans from the crown are due to him doing nothing for the last 5 seasons the lads nor good enough the quicker you wake up an see this the better soon as allan an gbamin and are fit he won't see a game for us.

6.) 29 Dec 2020 15:44:08
Davies and a couple of others are not good enough, if we really want to progress it’s time these sort of players are moved out.

7.) 29 Dec 2020 16:44:20
Totally disagree Tom has shown if played in the correct position he is a good enough squad player. His versatility has been his undoing. Given time and a consistent position I believe he will progress as a player. Also how do you know Gbamin is a better player than Tom as a defensive mid?

8.) 29 Dec 2020 17:38:22
Cos the papers said he was sa😂.

9.) 29 Dec 2020 20:12:22
The reason we purchased gbamin was because the likes of tom davies was not doing his job in midfield look at the stats the lads not good enough. People keep saying in the right position the lads seen how many mangers and all do the same thing he does not start unless needed. If you won't everton football club to challenge in Europe tom davies is not the name you won't on your team sheet. I have seen holgate play defensive mid and he was better that tom davies in the same game just my opinion some will agree some wont.

10.) 29 Dec 2020 21:40:17
I agree mate Davies is just not good enough, have watched him so many times and so many mistakes, we do not need that sort of player if we wish to progress.

11.) 29 Dec 2020 23:41:14
My view on RB is going to the World Cup ruined him. The pundits gutter press made him out to be this footballing god, when it didn't happen for him they all turned on him including the fans. Yes his personal life did him no favours but neither did we.

I have just read a article about the men's football at the Olympics, previously I believed Brazil had entered a strong team which he wanted to be a part of. Richarlison is their star man in a team of youngsters . Obviously fear of upsetting him led to the club granting permission allowing him to miss preseason and undoubtedly a handful of games at the start of the new season . He looked tired last season and will need a break after all this football . As one of our most saleable assets I'm increasingly thinking it's time to cash in and reinvest.

1.) 22 Jul 2021 13:33:27
He's scored a first half hattrick against Germany today! If he's staying a good tourney would be great because think he's a confidence player and if not at least it won't do his volume any harm!

2.) 22 Jul 2021 13:58:20
We need to keep hold of our better players so I wouldn't sell him unless a ridiculous fee is offered. I hope he sets these games alight and has a great tournament. As TD says, the lad thrives off confidence so hopefully he will be firing on all cylinders the minute he returns to Goodison.

3.) 22 Jul 2021 14:49:47
Its a good pre season for him playing competitive matches but I do think he's using the opportunity to put himself in the shop window. Look he's a good player but he's never going to have the impact of lukaku on our team. He, to me, is a fairweather player. If we can get more than we paid for him then I say let him go. We need a goalscorer. We need a new lukaku. Never mind wingers or players full of potential just get an out and out goalscorer.

4.) 22 Jul 2021 22:13:00
We have an out and out goalscorer Pauly. Are you saying sell DCL or sell Richarlison?
If you want a new Lukaku he will cost more than Richarlison, if you want an up and coming possible Lukaku then we need to keep Richarlisons 10-15 goals a season.

5.) 22 Jul 2021 22:46:54
Who’s our out and out goal scorer? DCL had a purple patch for a dozen games then offered very little for two thirds of the season. Don’t get me wrong, the service was hit and miss but he still had a lot of chances. I’ve always thought he needs to play alongside a natural finisher because his hold up play is excellent.

6.) 22 Jul 2021 23:28:12
Brazil play Richarlison as a striker both in serious and micky mouse competition. We on the other hand play him as a winger.

7.) 23 Jul 2021 14:20:14
Smit I was saying sell richy. I agree with Windsor re dcl. He could bring the best out of a Danny ings type goalscorer. Ings, to me, is an out and out goalscorer. He has little else to his game. He would only be employed as a goalscorer. Dcl is a target man who can hit double figures but he will never get you 20+ a season as his finishing is not strong enough. He's not a poacher. His 1 on 1 count is dreadful. He cost us a lot of goals and points with his weak finishing. I'm not having a pop at him as I like dcl but he needs a partner and he could help someone hit 20+ a season whilst hitting double figures himself.

{Ed025's Note - i like ings pauly and think he would be a perfect foil for DCL, however his injury record does concern me mate..

8.) 24 Jul 2021 12:07:44
Dcl isn't a natural goal scorer, which is why he tends to miss those one on one's. Wasn't he a midfielder in his early career? That said, he is still a threat going forward.
I like Ings as a player but, since he signed for those across the park, his injury record hasn't been great. I don't think it's worth a punt on that type of player unless they are coming on a free, I wouldn't spend 20m+ on him.

9.) 24 Jul 2021 13:53:01
Ed 025 they remind me of Sharp and heath. I see the 2 of them play and all I see is if we paired them up it would be 1985 all over again for me.
They are perfect for each others game and I know his injuries are concerning but if we can get 2 good seasons out of him we would be in Europe for sure.

Worrying times for Everton, the manager situation, our squad needing to be trimmed and strengthened, financial fair play . It baffles me that MB who signed many of these flops enjoys an untarnished reputation.

Megsey

1.) 23 Jun 2021 13:00:24
He didn't sign most of them though as been pointed out quite a few times Moshiri was paying 3rd party advisor's until last summer telling him to to buy.

2.) 23 Jun 2021 13:17:14
Mosh has got Mendes in his ears mate. Marcel has hardly been allowed to do his job. The fact he’s been given a new contract gives me hope that he will no be allowed to do his job.

Dumfries first in fingers crossed.

3.) 23 Jun 2021 13:21:26
I would far prefer to take our time and appoint the right manager for us, no knee jerk reactions to get it done quick.

4.) 23 Jun 2021 14:36:58
We’ve had at least 3 weeks Guernsey.

5.) 23 Jun 2021 20:14:19
No different to Palace or Spurs it takes time chill out.

Just under a year ago I was ridiculed on here . I stupidly predicted until we have a vax, crowds wouldn't fill our grounds again . I wasn't "SCARE MONGERING " just giving my opinion which was quite accurate.

😂😂👏 Blue247.

5.) 18 Jan 2021 12:06:02
Ha ha blue247 he probably already knew he was going to be called that.

6.) 18 Jan 2021 17:18:04
Not sure what your point is meggsey? There have been fans at games since March all be it at a much reduced capacity.
It’s been pretty much obvious for a long time that until we’re rid of or vaccinated against C.V. then majority of things in life won’t get back to normal - Full stadiums of fans included
Your post in March was only questioned by Ed002 and not ridiculed by anyone.

04 Nov 2020 19:55:35
Back in March I posted my thoughts on when fans would be allowed back into stadiums. I said without a vaccine fans wouldn't be allowed back. For this I was called a "scaremongering idiot".

Megsey

{Ed033's Note - Yes, and why would they go to all this trouble and stop at just 1 vaccine?

Watching the transfer window close without the stress of hoping for a miracle signing is proof of how far we have come in such a short time under Ancelotti. After our brilliant start to the season European qualification has to be our aim .

The quality of our new recruits have raised the performance of all the squad and our expectations. With Ancelotti able to attract players that wouldn't otherwise sign and our team showing real signs of improvement
future windows will be very interesting .

Gray obviously has talent, let's hope he delivers . I always worry when I hear the term "non brainer" being bandied around, remember Sandro. I know his wages were the problem but he too was a non brainer. Hopefully Gray has matured and see's this for the opportunity it is .

I don't think we pay reasonable wages ToffeeDavey . Remember Sandro? We couldn't lose on him as he was a bargain . His £100k awesome wages proved us all very wrong .

Coady is probably the slowest defender in the Premier League.

Just let Brandts and Ancelotti do what they are paid to do . Ancelotti signed for Everton knowing the situation. To suggest a manager of his experience and knowledge would get conned into joining a new club is laughable.

As for the just pay what the selling club wants to get the deal done is the attitude that has us in situation we are in.

Pulling numbers out of thin air leaves us open to scrutiny Trueblue mate . As the Premier League proves every time tv rights are up for sale sealed bids is the best way to go . Unlike an auction where you only need to make one more bid than your competitor to win, with sealed bids someone could potentially pay you that £1m for your £300k house .

We have to trust Rafa ( God that doesn't sound right ) he worked with Townsend at Newcastle so knows his ability and just as important his attitude. I will say having watched the boys training the speed they're moving the ball and their intensity is sky high compared to what's gone before . As for Gray, he's one of those players that have got nowhere near their potential. If we can get the best out of him it will be an inspired signing.

Davey you're seeing the Tosun situation as a fan . Would anyone leave Vauxhalls on £600 pw for Ford's on £400 . The Dave Hickson's of this world sadly don't exist anymore.

Everton offered Tosun the contract, why should he leave and be worse off . These players have no loyalty to our club they are just employees . Surely a compromise is negotiable where we could supplement his salary as United did and in turn we did over Rooney .

His 30 minute hat trick proves my point, the standard is laughable, he should be resting now before the onslaught of a Premier League season begins . All the confidence in the world is useless to an exhausted player. Representing your country is important to any player but playing as an over aged player at this level is meaningless.

We've got £1-5m plus wages to lose . More seriously mate is another transfer window and therefore another season wasted .
