Lukaku is such a clever player!
He's spent the first half hour of this game playing absolutely crap football in order to lure the west brim defence into a false sense of security.
Obviously it won't be long until he justifies his massive price tag and scores a hat trick!

Latchfordladd

{Ed025's Note - drag him off ffs...or replace him with a donkey from blackpool beach!..

1.) 28 Sep 2015 20:40:51
He is so frustrating to watch it's pathetic

{Ed025's Note - and there goes that lapse in concentration i was on about earlier..

2.) 28 Sep 2015 20:42:11
And that's the difference in having a striker who can finish and a striker like lukaku who chooses when he wants to play well or like tonight run round doing absolutely nothing

Apart from the Barkely goal I thought we were fairly poor. ref was biased though - he favored them a bit

I lost count of the amount of times Gerry gave the ball away with unforced errors - Lukaku looks lost and with a hopelessly poor first touch - Barkely looks like he just goes absent from games by wandering around and hiding behind opponents so he can't receive a pass - he's not involved at all a lot of the time - and he's an attacking centre mid!

Others did ok but those three were poor for me despite the two goals - lucky to come out with a win to my mind

Into the 4th round though so can't complain too much but we need to improve in a few areas I reckon

Barkely has been great so far this season, didn't see any of the game last night but your description is the exact opposite of how he has been playing. Against Southampton absolutely everything went through him. He has been demanding the ball this season

2.) 23 Sep 2015 09:14:50
Don't know what game you were watching but Barkley and Gerry were our main attacking threats. Barkley has had a great start to the season and yet people like you still try to call him out.

3.) 24 Sep 2015 13:18:48
Okay. I say this a lot and it can be frustrating at times.

Players like Barkley and Ged will give the ball away a lot of the time. Maybe only 20 30% will sometimes will get through. That's because they are the difficult passes or difficult runs or trying something technically difficult to create those chances.

But

They will create goals or chances for others and may only be two or three but they'll be good opportunities.

As for going missing during games. That is exactly what they should do. Drift in between the lines and if anyone has seen Messi who walks everywhere when he hasn't the ball that is exactly what he does. Defenders cannot keep still and they don't walk so they move away from the player. This creates space for them.

Barkley for me has not been below a 7 so far this season and has contributed towards 8 goals in all comps! He needs to keep it up.

I saw Barkley was on the pitch for England tonight but to be honest I hardly saw him touch the ball - I think he definitely has to work on that aspect of his game - how to get involved and make himself available for passes as I think he often just stands waiting for a ball but 'hiding' behind an opponent where he's never going to receive a pass

Thought after Milner he was the least effective player on the pitch personally. What you have said was the main issue I have with Rodwell, have you seen Rodwell recently? Still doing the same stuff. Jog around the pitch purposely avoiding the ball but doing just enough to look busy. What was his talent again?.

2.) 09 Sep 2015 09:48:21
Ye know what Swan I have said for years that Milner is shocking but everyone raves about him, fair enough he runs around a lot but cannot cross a ball at all.

Glad Rooney got the magic 50 mark.

Martinez resorted to his favourite tactics and favourite players (howard barry Alcaraz coleman all hopeless) and got his favourite result.

This man will never learn - as soon as player and fan power gets us a win - it just gives him some breathing space to go back to his old methods and then we get beaten again

He has to go whilst we still have some good players at the club - otherwise we're looking at a summer exodus

I think Colemans display was down to Alcatrash being awful mate

2.) 20 Mar 2015 08:36:52
I disagree Murph, both were awful but in my opinion Alcaraz was the main culprit for 3 of the goals. Playing as a centre back means you need to win headers. He barely won any all night.

3.) 20 Mar 2015 08:53:35
You are probably right Tom, I may have been looking through tinted glasses mate as like Coleman a lot, well I did

Anyone know why we got the away leg second - when we won our group?

Latchfordladd

1.) 17 Mar 2015 18:04:57
I think we were drew out before Kiev so at home 1st leg. The group winners only got an advantage in the 1st round of the knockout stages.

2.) 17 Mar 2015 18:24:25
Because it's only the round-of-32 where that rule applies. We're now in the round-of-16.

3.) 17 Mar 2015 20:35:15
Aha - make sense - thanks

Because it is a free site that does not charge, it's content is provided free by the public. Most t of the content is fairly accurate - you just have to be aware that it's not vetted by some kind of 'authority' - and who's to say what is 'the truth' anyway?

{Ed025's Note - good point latch..

well - one or two of them are! - they need to do some 'keepy uppies' all day long - to get their foot skills up to scratch - some have first touch like an elephant - some can't pass it straight - its not the difficult skills we're lacking - it's often the easy stuff

Well if we carry on allowing in millions of the worlds economic migrants then whether Everton or other premier league clubs are allowed European players will be the least of our problems.
Whatever happens there will be a level playing field between us and the other Prem clubs so not too worried.
The European champions league has ruined English top division football - as the mega money from that competition has distorted our league into a 3 or 4 horse race with Manu Chelsea ManC and Arsenal now being set in stone (barring a freaky Suarez or Moyes season) in those top four exclusive places - so get used to it blues - excluded from the top four or winning anything for decades to come - if not forever - what's the point?

If he promises to score 3 goals every game we'll let him stay - as long as he doesn't moan about being a sub every game

Only joking - I think he's pushed himself ahead of Kone
