Read today that Galatasaray are in talks to sign Henry Onyekuru on a permanent deal. I know his loan seems to be going well with them. I think it would be a shame if true. We never got to see the lad apart from when he signed for us out of the blue. Bloody work permits!

1.) 23 Jan 2019 13:27:01
I'd love to see him in a blue shirt next season think he could wonders in the premiership, definitely would be a shame not to see what he can do and sell him and probably watch him go onto be a top player.

2.) 23 Jan 2019 13:41:11
what can he do?

3.) 23 Jan 2019 15:14:53
Score goals by the looks of it.

4.) 23 Jan 2019 15:24:17
Play through the middle comfortably, has pace to burn and score goals. Could save us a fortune on a striker. He said a while back he wants to play for us and can't see us selling a player who hasn't yet played for us, who had teams not long ago like bayern, looking at him as a player to sign. Why sell?

5.) 23 Jan 2019 19:23:33
Why keep him if he can't ever play for us? Without a work permit, which I'm sure Ed002 says he's unlikely to get, he'll never get to wear the shirt. Whoever signed him clearly didn't do their homework and just assumed he'd be okay.

6.) 23 Jan 2019 19:44:16
Ed002 said we might get a permit on special conditions.
I don't think he's far away on the points total so possibly could get him under special conditions.

What is ironic is over paying for a player can help with a work permit and he is probably the only player we signed in that period that we didn't massively overpay for.

7.) 24 Jan 2019 01:14:04
ah. scores goals in the Turkish league.
Hey. just like Cenk.

8.) 24 Jan 2019 11:17:26
Chinchin he also scored goal in Belgium league. Don't know if he will score in Premier league unless given the chance to do so. For all we know, he could light up the Premiership.

9.) 24 Jan 2019 11:20:19
Chin chin he didn't only score in turkey he scored in Belgium as well I know not the biggest of leagues but he's scored in champions league I know you will point out that cenk scored in Turkey in champions league but the one thing Henry has that cenk dosent have and that is pace.

10.) 24 Jan 2019 11:45:44
It is hard to believe that he cannot get a work permit given the connections with Nigeria as a club and city being both commercial and cultural. Seems wrong to me.

11.) 24 Jan 2019 12:59:23
you do know the stipulations for being eligible for a work visa?

12.) 24 Jan 2019 13:02:06
and Tosun played for all German national teams aged 23 and under and also scored in the Champions League.
See where were going here.

13.) 25 Jan 2019 15:19:39
Henry Onyekuru is a top top player and a different class to Cenk Tosun. He has much more in his locker. I’ll be gutted if we sell him but if we can’t get him on the pitch then guess it’s the only other option. He’ll be playing for one of the best clubs in Europe in the near future, he’s class.

15 Jan 2019 17:00:24
Tyias Browning off to China? Also a championship club rumoured as well
David Unsworth said there maybe some news to be revealed soon allegedly.

Also another rumour is Batshuayi stalling on a possible move to Monaco amid Evertons interest. I don't know what the deal is with the links to him all the time as Ed002 has pointed out numerous times that this is a highly unlikely move.

1.) 15 Jan 2019 18:33:02
Tyias Browning is of some Chinese heritage, maybe the China links are genuine.

2.) 15 Jan 2019 22:46:15
Ed002 Is pretty knowledgeable but there’s no way he could know anymore on incomings or outgoings than what is already being spouted in the media, maybe the Batshuayi rumours are true maybe not, but the horses mouth has said that if players are sold then we could do some business (something like that) we will have to wait and see.

3.) 16 Jan 2019 00:01:50
Or he’s been seen buying new China cups.

04 Jan 2019 16:17:41
I see a few rumours regarding Barcelonas 24 year old midfielder Denis Suarez. Malcom wants to stay at Barcelona they claim so Suarez is possibly another option available.
A likely fee is said to be in the region of £9 million. I don't believe it myself.

We are in desperate need of a striker and a right midfielder. I do love the transfer speculation though. If indeed PSG do sign Gueye from us then I for one will be sad to see him go. As stated in Ed02's sharkopod it's not just Gana linked as PSG have been in contact with Watfords Doucoure as well.

{Ed0333's Note - Dennis Suarez for 9 million?...that’s doesn’t sound right to me mate.

1.) 04 Jan 2019 17:26:14
This is one of just several reasons why I don't believe it myself. Another reason is that I'm sure I read before he was linked with a possible transfer to Arsenal or Chelsea.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 18:00:54
9 million is possibly his wages for the year, on loan.
If we could get 20 mill for Gana and get doucoure for 35 i'd snap PSGs hand off.
Doucoure would be a beast alongside Gomes.

Sky Sports News reports that Alisher Usmanov is again linked to Everton after comments made to Russia 1 (I think) . He is alleged to have said,

"Everton is still far from where it should be. We will also help him. And how. This is my friend's club. "

They are quite speculative about what the comments could possibly mean such as stadium investment, general investment or co ownership but until anything concrete happens it's nothing news. Maybe something is in the pipeline then?

I read on BBC Sport that Manchester United have bid £35 million for Mina and it could happen today, according to the latest gossip. That's what they've said. So in other words they don't know. This has taken a long time to get sorted though I know that much.

1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:59:24
Don't believe it, he will come to us, if we weren't confident, we would of pulled out along time ago, it's all getting abit late in the day now, do man UTD really need another un proven defender, no they need players who are top of there game, if mourinio doesn't get it right this season he will be off.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 16:48:37
go down to the last day with yerry mina i'm afraid us yanited or lyon it'll be.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 17:40:03
It's time we moved on from mina and try for other targets it's clear we are only being used as a last resort we should go for Lille centre back Adam soumaoro who looks a strong defender ideally suited to premier league.

4.) 07 Aug 2018 19:43:48
Mina and his agent say he wants C. L football like David2012 says let's move on and get someone who want to come.

5.) 07 Aug 2018 20:08:29
How good is Mina?

{Ed025's Note - not seen that much of him really DFS, what i have seen he is very strong, good in the air and a huge threat at set pieces, negatives would be that hes not the quickest and can look a bit clumsy at times, others may have different views on him but thats mine for what its worth mate..

6.) 07 Aug 2018 21:07:29
Sounds like you've just described funes mori and we've just let him go for next to nothing.

7.) 07 Aug 2018 21:17:51
We could defiantly do with a centre back with some pace as we have enough slow central defenders as it is.

8.) 09 Aug 2018 10:07:35
We should of well walked away by now, would hope we learned from putting all our eggs in one basket over a striker last summer window.

Nice to see Baines is playing and named captain tonight, Digne is sub. No Gueye in the match squad so could that mean he's on his way way to PSG? Cenk also gets a start too.

Pickford, Baines, Zouma, Keane, Coleman, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison and Tosun
Stekelenburg, Digne, Kenny, Mccarthy, Walcott, Lookman and Calvert-Lewin.

1.) 29 Jan 2019 19:11:09
Oops Davies in the starting 11 too. I knew I forgot someone out.

01 Jan 2019 14:39:31
Well I'm not quite sure what I just witnessed but it was bloody awful. Yet another performance that was sub par. It's hard to see any positives from that. Is this job too big for Silva? I know it's early days in his managerial reign but I haven't seen as much improvement in our playing style as I would have hoped for. It's better football than under Allardyce yes but it's more akin to Martinez. We still look like conceding goals easily but have no answer to it. We've made so many defensive mistakes in December it's been an embarrassing month if I'm honest. I think that January could be an interesting month to see any ins and outs.

1.) 01 Jan 2019 15:14:48
One win in eight games! Managers have been fired for less. Silva needs to get a run of wins together very soon or people will want his head! I know it’s all about long term and be patience etc but no trophy in almost 24 years and it’s hard to keep giving managers their chance and our patience. I’m beginning to get that horrible feeling of dred before games again and I think it’s the inconsistency of our performances.

2.) 01 Jan 2019 16:55:34
New Years eve and all partying, didn't stop me going today, sat there with a cracking hang over, even so anyone else notice the amount of empty seats and even some rows practically empty.

3.) 01 Jan 2019 19:40:19
I did not go either and the game was so poor had it not been Everton would have switched the game off. Afterwards watched a cracking game between Forrest and Leeds.
Our game was no more ebtertaining than when Sam was in charge, the crowd was quiet it was so depressing.
It will get worse I am certain sorry to say.

24 Dec 2018 10:22:26
I just want to forget about yesterday's game, it was painful to watch. Next 2 away games are at Burnley and Brighton respectively. I'm still hoping for a late Christmas present of 6 points but I'm not overly optimistic. I'll get it in now, Merry Christmas my fellow toffees.

{Ed025's Note - same to you howie mate..

02 Dec 2018 21:14:33
I've said it numerous times how Richarlison needs to stay on his feet more and not look to go down all the time. It really gets on my nerves. Lookman came on and made more of an impact than Walcott did for me. He needs to be starting. Our best player for me was Andre Gomes (I celebrated that header as well albeit prematurely) . He has been quality and I would like us to sign him permanently if at all possible.

Now to the end of the game. It may have been an error from Pickford (which he was quick to acknowledge in the game) that led to the winning goal but I'm not putting all the blame on him. Yes I was devastated at the way we lost the point but you can also debate about our poor finishing which is what also cost us. If we took our chances then we'd be the ones celebrating. We gave a really good performance and it was a tight game. It shows how far we've come in so little time under Silva.

{Ed025's Note - very much so howie..

1.) 03 Dec 2018 09:55:28
IMO Wallcotts defensive side of the game is better that Lookmans so at the moment i'm with Silva keep Lookman on the bench until the opposition have tired then let him loose. Once he has improved defensively then we will no doubt see him start.

2.) 03 Dec 2018 12:06:26
personally love how snide richarlison is, we've been crying out for someone like him for years. someone with that personality that everyone hates, a cockiness to wind opposition and fans up, a lot like suarez did.

28 Oct 2018 18:33:43
Pickford was outstanding today and it was never a penalty for me, Martial made a meal of it. Well impressed again with Gomes, he is quality. Walcott had another shocker so I'll be amazed if he's in the first eleven for the next game. Bernard wasn't particularly great either. Richarlison has really got on my nerves lately by going down at every opportunity, he needs to stamp it out of his game and he need to be played out on the wing again. Coleman didn't have a good game either. Sigurdssons penalty was smashed in. Maybe in another game we would have ended up with a point.

{Ed025's Note - cant argue with any of that howie mate..

1.) 28 Oct 2018 18:46:46
Spot on Howie mate. You nailed it there.

2.) 28 Oct 2018 19:16:07
Fair enough Man Utd were better in parts. As Silva said though never a penalty if that doesn't happen we are good enough for a draw. Conundrum Kenny and Walcot together understanding. Coleman makes the same runs as Walcot no understanding. If we keep Coleman Walcot to the bench. Tosun up front and Richarlison Lookman on the flanks. Finally am an advocate of don't change a winning team. The team that started today was not the winning Team of last week.

{Ed025's Note - seamus and theo were poor today BCT, we need to change it a bit for me as well we are crying out for a proper centre forward mate, richie tries but thats not his game and we need him on the wing to create..

3.) 28 Oct 2018 19:52:07
Any decent CF will A. Cost a fortune B. Want at least European Cup. We are in a catch 22 situation. let's hope Brands (with his contacts) can unearth a gem.

I saw that earlier on and heard a few stories about Anderlecht wanting Bolasie. Another one was Cuco Martina to Feyenoord. I'm not sure if we'll get anyone in though.

We've been linked with Batshuayi through all of this window so until it happens I'm not going to believe it. So many stories going around though you can tell there's not long left now.

I didn't expect him to report back for preseason if I'm honest. I thought he would have found another club before now. It's a loan rather than a permanent deal I think I read earlier. A lot of fans want him gone anyway.

I think he saw us as a stepping stone to better and bigger things. I can't blame him either as we've gone backwards as a club. To me he doesn't look like the same player that left us. I don't think he's any better either. Still has that amazing first touch though! I would definitely take him back as he scored vital goals for us and as mentioned previously we have not replaced that factor. I very much doubt that he will ever be an Everton player again though.

I think the harsh reality is that most fans are expecting a loss tonight regardless of whether they are positive or negative. It is good that he has finally changed but we are currently in relegation form (stats on Sky Sports News earlier) . That is far more concerning to me than anything else.

I'm in total agreement with degsyp here. Especially after the way in which Moyes left the club, it was a bitter pill to swallow shall we say. I haven't heard Paulo Fonseca being mentioned this time around yet. A lot of fans were raving about him. I think people wouldn't be so quick to call for Silva's head if they could see some progress. History is kind of repeating his usual trend here though. Kudos to the Eds, they did warn us.

I agree with Smit666. He's shown glimpses of what he can do within his first few games. He has somewhat lost his form though. As for loss of form well the whole team is guilty of that too.
