Is there any interest in Patrik Schik, the striker from Sampdoria? He was set to go to Juventus but it appears the deal has collapsed. He would be a great signing if we could pull it off.

Just want to say congratulations to Yannick for making his comeback from injury and playing for the U23’s. It’s been a long road back for the lad and I for one think we have missed his pace and physicality. Hopefully he can be 100%fit and play a part in the upcoming holiday fixtures.

I think Lookman, Bolasie and DCL's pace with Sig and Rooney pulling strings will cause defences a lot of problems. Big Sam's got us back in the fight and with players coming back and the Jan window (which I'm not expecting miracles from) I think we can get back into the Europa next year.

We've been dreadful pre-Christmas most of the last ten years but this year felt worse because of the optimism the money brought. We're known for our form in the second half of the season and hopefully we're building some momentum going into it.

Who would everyone want our next manager to be? We look to be in real trouble right now. We are not creating any chances, and our defense will get us relegated if it continues. As much as I hate to say it, I believe our best option until the end of the season is Big Sam. He is proven to know what it takes to survive relegation battles and I believe he would sort out our defense rather quickly. It is much too risky to appoint a manager like Tuchel who has no perm experience, or Ancelotti who hasn’t had to manage a title contender in years, let alone a team in the relegation zone. We then could go in for a more attractive manager in the summer.

Denver blue

{Ed025's Note - a lot of supporters are saying allardyce denver....i can tell you that im not one of them, i know things are bad but now is not the time for us to appoint someone like that fat headed charletan, i cant stand the guy and we may as well all give up if its come to this, of course thats just my opinion which nobody takes any notice of anyway mate..

1.) 30 Oct 2017 17:06:32
At this moment in time we should probably let go for Dyche has done well at Burnley probably my deserves a chance to manage a bigger club and the one for me is he has perm experience my choice would be Marco Silva but it would be hard to convince him and Dyche looks like the right appointemdnt at this time if I am being honest. The job at the moment though is a career defining one fir anyone who takes over.

2.) 30 Oct 2017 17:09:30
To be fair Ed, we really are in the brown stuff, already 4 points adrift of 11/ 12th place. As someone else pointed out we need at least 30 points just to survive, can you or anyone else tell me how or where we are going to get those from. Sam is the very man we need right now not in January but now. He has never been relegated to my knowledge. Dyche is one for us once we have a few points on the board so he has something to work with.

{Ed025's Note - i can see what you are saying DM, unfortunately my soul is not for sale mate..

3.) 30 Oct 2017 17:35:23
With you 025, please please not alladyce, heard before he would consider us if approached, that comment alone says it all.

{Ed025's Note - along with moyes they are my worst nightmare KK, i know things are bad but one of them would just compound things for me mate..

4.) 30 Oct 2017 17:38:33
I agree with you about Silva and Dyche Eddy, but I don’t know if they would leave right now. Marco Silva is my first choice, but I don’t see him leaving after 3 months. I also completely understand why people wouldn’t want Sam as our manager and under normal circumstances I totally agree, but as the saying goes “desperate times call for desperate measures”. I feel the defense is most important thing to fix because I can’t see any manager getting us scoring 2 to 3 goals a game with no number 9.

5.) 30 Oct 2017 17:40:58
Sadly I think fat Sam may be our answer, the team is in such disarray now that it will probably take 2 maybe 3 seasons to fix. It just is not the matter of appointing a couple of strikers I think the problem goes far deeper. The spirit has gone out of the team.

At the same time I do not feel that fat Sam is our answer long term but one of a short term to rebuild our foundations and get us ready to have a manager capable of moving us up.

When the boat is rocking you don't just speed off into the distance and hope for the best, instead you slow down and stabilize it, and then resume the journey.

{Ed025's Note - but when that boat is the titanic you need to proceed to the best equipped life raft you can find grumpy, an old upside down table is likely to sink very quickly mate..

6.) 30 Oct 2017 17:50:14
Irrespective of him as a person, Allardyce has a proven record of rescuing clubs in this predicament, however could you not also consider his style similar to that of Joe Royle's 'Dogs of War'? ad maybe just what we need?

{Ed025's Note - but joe was an evertonian who knew the club very well wakka, sam is a mercenary who wont lose any sleep if he fails as long as his wallet can break his fall mate..

7.) 30 Oct 2017 18:13:20
Ed25, if big Sam, Moyes or redknapp came near our club, I don't think I could step foot in goodison ever again. regardless if they kept us in prem or not. I'd be done with footy in all honesty.

{Ed025's Note - i think i would not be far behind you mate..

8.) 30 Oct 2017 18:17:03
Agree with you there Wakka Big Sam would get us out the mire, but my choice would be Ancelotti for the job, i would be happy mate with anyone who could get us out of this mess and boy are we in a serious spot at the mo.

9.) 30 Oct 2017 18:22:05
Ed, it's just dawned on me how sad and desperate it is. even contemplating this. if only we could bottle this feeling and serve it to the players. just gutting.

{Ed025's Note - we have been bottling it all season mate..

10.) 30 Oct 2017 18:53:56
Mad this talking about alladyce as manager, only a few months ago we nearly signed costa, have we fallen that much in 3 months? If its devil or deep blue sea i'd go for pulis if am honest .

11.) 30 Oct 2017 19:12:27
The thing is yes Sam/ dyche shoes will sure up the ship but next season would you trust them to spend and make the step up to challenging for Europe/ cups etc? I think you're in a predicament as getting one for those managers and them finishing mid table would probably warrant a fair crack next season but expectations etc will increase and they aren't the managers to do achieve that. But would an ancelottti or more exciting manager take the role at the minute?

12.) 30 Oct 2017 19:25:30
KingKendall When did we nearly sign Costa?

13.) 30 Oct 2017 19:30:58
@ Ed025 There's a difference mate between a sinking ship and a rocking one. Still not hit the iceberg yet, we can still turn and avoid it. ( I bet some idiot gives this a thumbs down )

{Ed025's Note - they probably will mate.. :)

14.) 30 Oct 2017 19:39:28
Ed025 sadly they are just like players these days and will jump ship for a better deal, if anyone thought Koeman was here long haul you are sadly mistaken.
Big Joe is past history for us and a managers allegiance to a club does not cut the ice these days it’s all sink or swim I’m afraid!
I fully understand your reservations however.

{Ed025's Note - i just think it sends out the wrong message wakka that everton after 10 games see themselves as relegation candidates, there could be a bit of truth in it but you never show your hand in a game of poker or football mate..

15.) 30 Oct 2017 19:52:48
Reported latter part of the summer by most news outlets, gossip columns and even vlasic has stated the number 19 shirt was reserved for costa.

16.) 30 Oct 2017 21:50:27
Come on Kingkendall mate when did we start believing the press?

23 Sep 2017 16:57:51
It looks like Niasse has found some sugar and water and turned his lemon into lemonade! Made up for the lad and I hope he gets a proper run in the team.

Denver blue

1.) 23 Sep 2017 17:07:27
How much better we looked when Niasse, Davies and Kenny came on. We need to stick with those three players and they need to start. DCL was great the whole match. Unfortunately Holgate was not so good but hopefully will improve with time. Good win and Niasse saved Koeman's bacon.

2.) 23 Sep 2017 18:29:30
Niasse plays on the last defender and runs in behind like a striker should get those defenders running towards their own goal, this is something we have been missing.

17 Sep 2017 15:39:12
For some reason I felt like we were going to get a point today, but after seeing the team sheet I think it's going to be another hammering. Why is Koeman obsessed with playing a back 3 against the teams above us in the table from last season? Once again there is no pace in the team, no width, and we don't even have a striker in the first 11. I'm usually very optimistic, but Koeman is making this very difficult. He is becoming a combination of Moyes and Martinez where we have an inferiority complex versus the big clubs and no plan B when things aren't going well. I really hope the team proves me wrong, but I really can't see us scoring or keeping a clean sheet.

Denver blue

{Ed025's Note - its very negative denver, as you say no pace at all in the side which will mean we will be on the back foot from the first whistle, i honestly cant see us getting a result mate..

1.) 17 Sep 2017 15:53:02
Just to correct you Denver it's actually a back 7 were playing today.

{Ed025's Note - back 10 and a keeper for me smit...knife to a gun fight..

While I, like many on this site, am frustrated with the amount of time the Sigurdsson deal is taking, I don't understand the people saying "it's just 5 million in today's market, just pay it and move on". This summer we spent about 5 mil on Sandro and he will be worth ten times that amount in 3 years. The board know that Sigurdsson wants to be a toffee and they're not going to be rushed into spending more than they have to. The revolution is upon us, and I for one couldn't be happier with our summer (Unless Giroud could have been convinced) .

Denver blue

1.) 12 Aug 2017 07:46:16
Too right Denver Blue I wish I had 5 million.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 07:56:34
Agreed Denver blue and ToffeeAL.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 09:05:44
Not saying I disagree with you but you could flip it the other way and say hey we saved £5m there which effectively paid for Sandro!

4.) 12 Aug 2017 09:33:39
5 million could buy a great youth prospect or 2.

5.) 12 Aug 2017 09:58:26
Exactly Smit, just because we have money we don't need to be frivolous with it.

My dream summer would be signing Olivier Baumann for gk, Harry McGuire and Either Romanogli or VVD for CB, Gylfi Sigurrdson or Klassen for CAM, either Malcom from Bordeaux, the Nigerian lad Henry Onykeuru, or Helder Costa for a winger, and both Kasper Dolberg and Sandro for strikers. This would show the world that we are an ambitious club who will be fighting for silverware and the top four.
Hopefully we can get 3 points and a goal for Ross and Rom in their potential last game at Goodison in the Everton blue. Coyb.

I don't take this as a sign that we don't have money to spend. Looking at the squad we definitely need a new number 1, at least one first 11 center back, a new number 10 regardless of wether Ross leaves, cover for our full backs, a new winger, and a new striker (2 if Rom leaves) . If we were to spend 35 mil on a couple of players then it will be difficult to make all of the squad upgrades Koeman will want. We have the right people leading the club and the future is bright. Onwards and upwards.

I would play a 4-3-3 tomorrow with one midfielder farther upfield than the other two.
Pickford
Kenny, Keane, Jags, Baines
Gueye, Klassen
Sigurdsson
Lookman, Sandro, Calvert Lewin

Bench: Stek, Davies, Williams, Mirallas, Vlasic, Niasse, Rooney

Front 3 all have pace and can interchange. We spent 45 mil on sigurdsson so we should actually play him in the right position. Hopefully Niasse can get a run out from the bench and take his opportunity.

I've been reading this page for years, and this may be the most negative post I've seen. While we haven't spent a lot of money in net transfers, we have drastically increased our wage bill.

We have signed quality players who greatly improve the squad. Sandro is an absolute steal at 5 mil and offers everything Rom doesn't (movement, link up play, and ball control) . We've signed two England internationals for the next several years in Pickford and Keane who are improvements on Robles and Jags. Wayne Rooney brings the winning pedigree to our squad that has been missing since the 80, and I believe he has more left in the tank than many give him credit for.

Henry Okenyoro ( spelling? ) has the potential to be a premier league star. Davy Klaassen is a born leader who knows where the back of the net is. While Martina isn't the most exciting signing, Koeman trusts him which is good enough for me.

There have been several transfer windows on the past where having a moan was more than understandable (summer of 2011 and summer of 2015 are two of the bigger ones for me) but this window is the polar opposite.
The blue revolution is fully in swing, and I for one can't wait for the season to start.

I really hope that bobby wood link isn't true. I've watched him several times with the United States national team and I don't think he's top 7 quality. I feel we should be aiming for a better striker.
