If Unsy is given the first team job what does it say about Big Dunc, he's been involved with 2 managers who have alienated the fanbase for different reasons. Martinez tried to bluff us, we don't do bluffers, and Koeman didn't love us, we have a fanbase that loves honesty hardwork and a have a go mentality. Why has big Dunc not been able to get this simple message to the managers when his whole career was defined by that attitude.
Big Dunc needs to prove himself as u23 manager as he's done nothing to prove he's worth paying as first team coach.
Unsy deserves a crack and even if he doesn't get the main gig he needs to be installed as no2 and prepared for the job. This way we have potential progression, eventually Unsy steps up to no1,Ferguson steps up to assistant if he does well with the 23s and another ex blue takes the 23s and we keep that format, developing blue managers. Maybe 5 years down the line Tim Cahill has just earned his stripes and is named no2 to Ferguson and so on and so on. You get my drift?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he had a chance with Koeman, to be fair, the man's arrogance would never have let him listen to someone like Duncan Ferguson. Koeman was just a poor appointment for a club that prides itself on being a big part of the community. He refused point blank to get involved. I hope a lesson has been learnt and the club stipulate with any future manager has to be fully involved in community programs, as it is a huge part of the club and something that is respected by all.}

I agree ed. I went the Bradley lowery charity game and was amazed almost none of the current playing staff (i know it was international week but not all were called up to squads) or management were there on behalf of the club. Koeman especially should have made an appearance being the public figure head of the club.

{Ed001's Note - I am shocked at that, I would have thought most of the players would have attended.}

Well said Ed001. I think that Ferguson will contribute a lot more with Unsworth in the managerial seat. Hopefully the next permanent manager if it is not Unsworth will be a better man manager and more in line with our basic values including being involved with community programs.

Few ex players. Hibbo, snods, Stuart etc where there but can't remember 1 current first team or staff member. Poor from my point of view.
Only had half ground open. The game at qpr day before was full. Raised good money for his foundation and was good day but could have been planned so much better.

{Ed001's Note - that is a shame, he deserved their respect, they certainly paid enough lip service to it!}

geoffjohno - that is shocking mate, absolute disgraceful if you ask me.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure no one was there. Don't even think Bill was there. We were good donating to the little fella but really fell down on the day. Almost as if they were just using the stadium and the club was not involved. This is Why, as we said above, a new manager needs to be involved in all aspects of thr club (community, ladies, youth, disabled teams, etc, even with the free school) .
Obviously not all the time as he still have a team to run but to show face and show togetherness and a unfied identity throughout the club.

I went to the charity game and I think the club can be really proud of themselves think there was 26000 fans there I saw fans from Birmingham villa stoke Bristol city man utd man city Boro and Liverpool all enjoying a game played in good spirits yes I was disappointed no current players attended but we had hibbo and Peter Reid playing so to say the club didn't get involved is incorrect not to mention roy Evans from the other lot joining in all in all I think our city can be proud of what we did that day.

Isnt it unsworth and ebrell temporary at the minute? Just curious no mention of dunc anyway.

Bluey as I said we had some ex players there and we did well raising money and it's was a good crowd and some fans from all over the country. I just feel we could have done slightly more with some of the first team or manager being there or even Bill who was a big part of the game hapoening. I was proud of being a blue and a scouser that day honouring the little guy and taxing money to help others with this condition.

Don't think we need to worry too much, get Defoe as a stop gap if nothing else.

Behave. He's missed 100 over 10 yr playing for a team that plays over 50 games most seasons plus he's had 1 major knee operation. Hardly talking a crock. Tell ya what let's sign wingers like Lennon who try hard but can't do anything other than work the flank. I'm stunned because last time I checked I think Arsenal are miles better than us.

Yeh imo your wrong, he's gone to watch a match and maybe catch up with friends. No story no problem. He'll obviously still have an affinity to the club.

Got to remember that when he takes a chance at 0-0 v city puts us 1up with a fantastic first time finish puts you in the way to the win, it may not be the winning goal but vital in the end result and the game taking shape, stats stats stats, too much of it analysed, let's be be bigger and better than RL and move on, he's got clear weaknesses and is a great goalscorer, how good he becomes is no longer an interest to me, I'm interested in Rooney, Sandro, Klaasen etc and giving them. my full support.
