Good source tells me your mystery striker is Benteke, £31m and four year deal.

CFCFOREVER!

{Ed025's Note - i really hope not CFC, im not a big fan at all and think there are a lot of better options out there but thanks for the heads up mate..

1.) 11 Jul 2017 09:25:22
I'm with you on that ED, why waste £31M on a poor mans Lukaku. I was under the impression RK was looking a more dynamic style of forward.

{Ed025's Note - im hoping so too sa mate..

2.) 11 Jul 2017 09:57:58
Give me iheanacho or martial any day over that, available at the same price, iheanacho even cheaper. they're probably as good as but at least have the potential to improve. Only reason I think Ronald may be interested is he's looking for a target man striker. Which I think would be useful, also think we need a striker with pace to burn to stretch defences on the counter.

3.) 11 Jul 2017 10:17:28
Sandro has plenty of pace.

4.) 11 Jul 2017 13:54:51
I actually think Benteke is quality! I would have loved Iheanacho as well!
Personally I think If the 13m price we keep hearing for Hernandez s true then we have to at least try! I'd pay a lot more than that for him TBH!

Ed025 et al. On a scale of 1 to Roy Hodgson, how boring are the Romelu Lukaku rumours to you all?
Also, on a more relevant note, a friend from Germany suggested you might be looking at Bobby Wood (Hamburg) and Marcel Heller (Darmstadt) . Don't know how true these are, but he's usually pretty reliable so thought I'd pass it on. Worth noting Heller is available on a Bosman, decent player but would seem odd to me. Stop-gap Bolasie replacement possibly?

CFCFOREVER!

{Ed025's Note - i think we have all lost patience with rom CFC, he seems to be a law unto himself now and although i hold no grudges we need him to move on, those german guys you mention are not on my radar mate but thanks anyway as i suppose you never know..

1.) 06 Jun 2017 17:54:57
I have been saying this for months Ed, I would like to apologise to any fellow Blues I may have offended with any of my older posts in regards to Lukaku, but I am Blue through and through since the early seventies and no player is bigger than Everton Football Club, the fans deserve better than to to have to listen to Champions league comments every International break, get shut bring Michy Bats in part exchange and start next season with a settled and hungry squad.

{Ed025's Note - no apologies needed baz..

2.) 06 Jun 2017 18:27:39
Hi Ed, the bookies have Utd odds on to sign Lukaku he has said he wants to win things? Hope he doesn't want to come back to Everton next year when we start to win things.

3.) 06 Jun 2017 19:28:19
Whatever happens I hope Bill has the sense to put in a buy back clause and a percentage of any sell on fee just in case lukaku can't cut it at the top.

4.) 06 Jun 2017 22:08:18
Sell on fee yes. Buy back clause for a guy who thinks he's bigger and better that Everton? No thanks.

5.) 06 Jun 2017 22:13:04
What will make me chuckle is if Lukaku warms the bench only scores a handful of goals and gets outscored by whoever we bring in as his replacement!

{Ed025's Note - that would be good ST..

6.) 06 Jun 2017 22:32:55
I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happens Southern Toffee.

7.) 06 Jun 2017 23:33:05
Guys. He won't be bothered if, the team he signs for wins the league or champs league. That's what he wants. Trophies. If he gets a champs league medal but only plays 4 games good on him. There are no more le tissiers or shearers about anymore. Players are happy to be squad players and pick up medals. What we will see is if he is a flat track bully or a true great.

8.) 07 Jun 2017 22:22:22
Smit666 I believe Lukaku has a massive ego. Don't think it would go down too well sitting on the bench. Even with the medals.

{Ed025's Note - i agree NBTB..

9.) 08 Jun 2017 06:21:49
NBTB once the money's in our bank I couldn't give a monkey's where he sits 😉 but he knows if he doesn't perform at a big team like Chelsea he will be benched.

As a neutral, I can't believe how negative some of you lot are! Reading this page, I'd have thought yesterday's result relegated you! Give Koeman the finances and he'll have you fighting for top four next season, can almost guarantee it. And I'll even stick my neck on the chopping block and say that is both with Lukaku and without Lukaku. I was very impressed in general by your lot yesterday, ultimately one moment of brilliance changed the game.

CFCFOREVER!

{Ed025's Note - to be fair CFC we have played a lot better at home this season, we missed schneiderlin big time and i hoped to have given you a sterner test to be honest mate..

1.) 01 May 2017 15:33:36
Totally agree Cfcforever. Especially with the Lukaku comment. There was no top 6 this year. Chelsea were way out on their own.

The bridge between us and Chelsea is big. The gap between us Utd and Arsenal, not so big. I expect us to be every bit as good if not better than those 2 next year.

2.) 01 May 2017 15:39:08
Mmmm let me think. Chelsea last season when players all downed tools. Fans were right behind them then, weren't they?

3.) 01 May 2017 17:33:47
Chelsea will ultimately find it more difficult next season with the UCL to contend with, which should make them a bit less dominating. I'm still not convinced by Man who and anyway they only have one more good season to go before the mourinho curse kicks in. Arsenal need to spend big or they will be sucked out of the top 5/ 6. We should be hopeful that with some good signings we can have a good shot at breaking into the top 4. Onwards and upwards.

4.) 01 May 2017 15:14:11
Can understand that, Schneiderlin is a big loss, was happy to not see his name in the squad (presumably injured? ) , but afterwards talking to a lot of Chelsea fans, we felt it was arguably the best away performance of the season (alongside Leicester in January) .
Ed025, two questions if you will. 1) Would you rather keep Lukaku or sell for £75m+? and 2) Would you take Rooney if he was available on a free and would take a wage cut?

{Ed025's Note - i would keep romelu CFC as strikers who score as regularly as him are priceless, it would be a no from me on wazza as i think hes past his best and even on a free he is cluttering up a space that will hopefully be filled by a hungry quality player mate..

Well before today, my only other visit to Merseyside was that fateful April day at Anfield three seasons ago. Have to say I really enjoyed my away day (winning did help! ) but you have a great classic stadium and I want to try and get to Goodison at least once more before you move to Bramley Moore Docks.
My two-penneth on the game. As a Chelsea fan, if you'd have told me at the start of the season the aggregate score against Everton would be 8-0 in our favour, I would have laughed. Koeman is clearly taking you forward, and you gave a good game from 65 minutes. Davies, Gana are both top quality, Barkley is clearly very frustrating, he can be brilliant or terrible and gave the ball away far too much. Thought Calvert-Lewin started well but faded badly, Lukaku fared the same way, Valencia isn't good enough. Back four was solid enough up till 1-0, looked a bit ragged afterwards. Stekelenburg needs replacing with a top keeper. Ultimately, our squad depth and quality told, very few sides can bring on a £25m midfielder, solid young CB and £30m winger to change games. Keep at it, certainly got a really good young bunch. I'd say a top GK, decent rotation CB, a backup fullback, one other top midfielder and you'll have an excellent chance next season at top 4. All in all, a great day out, and your fans made a lot of noise as well, not quite the full Goodison atmosphere but still very decent. Credit to all you lot and best of luck for the rest of the season Ed025, you play better football than Utd and Arsenal and deserve Europe over them both.
Also, the pies at your place are bloody good!

CFCFOREVER!

{Ed025's Note - thanks a lot CFC im glad you enjoyed your day mate..

1.) 01 May 2017 07:50:40
Good post mate. Glad you enjoyed your day. Assessment about right too!

2.) 01 May 2017 09:16:15
Spot on cfc. good post and glad you enjoyed the game.

3.) 01 May 2017 10:03:14
Brilliant post Cfcforever. Probably a fair assessment of things. No doubt we are a lot better than last season.

4.) 01 May 2017 11:37:28
CFC, chrs for that. Yes the pies are good, notice you didn't mention the beer.

5.) 01 May 2017 12:33:27
Billscrocodiletears, it wasn't so much as not mentioning it, but rather feeling like if I'd continued drinking, having done so before the game, I'd be seeing double of every player.

He is a good player, struggles a bit weight-wise, but I'd have him over Kone. Mind you, I'd have myself over Kone too and my only good finish is at an all you can eat buffet.

Ed025, a bit harsh on the big German! 1 in 2 record for Gladbach and 1 in 1.5 record for a very average Bremen side! I personally think Kruse is an excellent player, watched him a lot and he is a real presence and nuisance up top.

CFCFOREVER!

{Ed025's Note - i have not seen that much of him to be honest CFC so im going on other reports really, but i will take your word for it mate..
