Wondering if there is any truth in the reports coming out this morning that Brands has/ is joining and we are bringing in Frank Fabra for left back?

BlueToffee94

1.) 04 Apr 2018 11:22:54
I have also seen reports over a deal being struck but won’t be announced until after PSV secure the title and they are 7 points clear with 5 games to play
If true Sunday the 15th April will be a pivotal weekend as PSV will host Ajax.

2.) 04 Apr 2018 13:04:26
Yes
As I alluded to yesterday.
He was after him last year.

13 Mar 2018 13:34:34
Seen a lot of rumours that Elstone is leaving the club, and can I just say not a second too soon, be glad when he is gone, all he achieved was the worst deal in our history!

I was wondering if anyone has heard about the Tom Davies to West Ham rumours, surely their is no truth in this? I know he has been poor this year but he has changed games when he has come on in place of MS he gets forward and it causes spaces to open up, it would take serious money for him to go surely, is this purely rumour eds? Also I have seen from various places that Konsa (charlton CB) is incoming I hope to god this is true he looked outstanding in the under20's WC lots of teams are looking at him, however still not seen any LB's linked I believe Konsa would be cover for the first team so no more CB's would be looked at.

BlueToffee94

{Ed025's Note - moyes has inquired about tom BT but i cant see him going anywhere to be honest, we are linked to vidal as a full back option who is being offered around by his agent but how thats progressing i dont know mate..

1.) 17 Jan 2018 16:06:05
Just as we get linked with every Tom, Love Truncheon and Harry other clubs do too. Moyes may like/ want him but it doesn't mean he'll get him. We need to keep hold of our young talent, and it'll be another huge mistake by the club imo if I'm wrong.

2.) 17 Jan 2018 16:20:15
Very nice editing Ed 😂😂😂.

3.) 17 Jan 2018 15:57:31
I think he is one of our better midfield options can see him and beningme running it for years (I hope! ) Have you heard anything of Konsa? I thought Vidal was more of a right back?

{Ed025's Note - i dont know anything about konsa BT..

4.) 17 Jan 2018 16:35:42
He isn't a big Sam type of player. hope this is nonsense but if anyone would sell the crown jewels it's Allardyce.

5.) 17 Jan 2018 16:58:46
If we sell Tom Davies I’m done, more than good enough for Everton, though with Allardyce I won’t be shocked when Davies, Kenny, Lookman, Vlasic and Bangngime are all gone the summer and we end up with Mark Noble, Martin Kelly, Andy Carroll, Jason Puncheon and Joe Ledley as their replacements.

6.) 17 Jan 2018 16:58:46

{Ed002's Note - If Davies were to be sold it won't be at the behest of Allardyce.}

7.) 17 Jan 2018 17:03:34
Steve Walsh ed? Or Moshiri?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anyone at Everton looking to sell TD.}

8.) 17 Jan 2018 18:02:52
They won't sell TD. Makes no sense. I know the club had made mistakes particularly of late but this would be far too far. I have too much faith to worry about this. Would sell every cm apart from Geuye before selling Tom.

9.) 17 Jan 2018 18:38:04
Ooh you devil's advocate ed02.

{Ed002's Note - Have any of you tried the search engine about Konya.}

10.) 18 Jan 2018 06:58:36
Ed25 I saw you mentioned Aleix Vidal being offered around. I thought he was a RB though so that surely wouldn’t do much to help our LB problem (although it would be very Everton to buy another RB right now. It’s the number 10 scenario all over again) .

{Ed025's Note - thats right CT, he was the only defender with strong links to us along with the charlton kid who is a CH, there seems a lack of left backs at the moment so it wont be easy to solve the position which is our biggest problem mate..

25 Jul 2017 11:39:10
I was just wondering if there is any update on Lewis Gibson (young CB from Newc) and Joshua Zirkzee? I heard bids accepted and confirmed but nothing else? Also anyone else linked recently?

12 Jul 2017 09:27:32
Hi Eds, I am seeing that Riedewald has chosen palace over us, surely he would prefer a move to everton? Any news eds?

BlueToffee94

{Ed002's Note - He is liked by and close to FdB.}

1.) 12 Jul 2017 10:18:34
Ah so is that him off to Palace then? Can you give an update on our targets as its all gone quiet at the moment, are we expecting another crazy burst again?

{Ed002's Note - I think that most of the work is done. I do expect a push for GS, a forward and a centre back.}

2.) 12 Jul 2017 10:39:41
Will the forward be an actual number 9, or will it be someone who can play right across? Is benteke just paper speculation?

{Ed002's Note - Well the club currently have Rooney, Sandro, Oumar Niasse plus some wide players and they have had interest in Moussa Dembele (which seems to have waned) and now seemingly Benteke.}

3.) 12 Jul 2017 11:05:17
Is that Llorente still a target from Real ed?

4.) 12 Jul 2017 11:09:52
Not sure we could guarantee Riedewald regular 1st team football. Palace may have done. World Cup year means any player with a shout of being in a squad wants minutes.

5.) 12 Jul 2017 11:05:17
Is that Llorente still a target from Real ed?

{Ed002's Note - No, they are going to keep him.}

6.) 12 Jul 2017 11:09:18
Do you think Niasse is part of the plans for the forthcoming season? I will be so glad when this window is over as the forwards linked worry me massively!

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure.}

7.) 12 Jul 2017 11:48:08
Someone please tell me we are going to a sign a forward and not be seeing Niasse at all, we thought lukakus first touch was bad!

{Ed025's Note - we will be TB, niasse is not part of the plan at all mate..

8.) 12 Jul 2017 11:58:02
Phewww, I was worrying then! Hoping we have finished our business by the Stoke game! Any signs of any outgoing players? Mccarthy or will he be staying?

9.) 12 Jul 2017 11:59:09
Is there any other centre back targets you know of. Cheers eds.

{Ed002's Note - The others that Everton has shown interest in over recent months have moved elsewhere or a staying where they are.}

So I have just been looking at our next six fixtures and only 2 of the teams are above us, first we have Palace at home which right now is a must win and after watching them yesterday I feel confident we can get a win there which puts us onto 34 points with 11 games to go! We then have Watford away and they will really want to turn us over for the whole Silva issue and the result in the reverse fixture, then Burnley away which I cannot see anything from at all, after that it is Brighton at home which should be 3 points, it is then Stoke away which again we should be looking to get 3 points from and then City at home sorry but I fear that could be a lot worse than the Arsenal game, so fellow blues, with Palace, Brighton and City at home, Watford, Stoke and Burnley away what is your feeling from the next 18 points I think we will get 10 which will see us safe for another year!

BlueToffee94

{Ed025's Note - i do applaud your optimism BT however you may need to take off the blue tinted specs i feel mate, some of these easy points you see us getting may be more difficult than you expect, the teams below us are the ones that are the most dangerous as they are fighting for their lives and to be honest i see more fight in them then i see in us at the moment, you may eventually be right but im not holding my breath..

1.) 05 Feb 2018 10:47:25
We should be safe Blue Toffee as theoretically there are lots of winnable matches coming up, but as Ed025 says none of those games are going to be easy. We have to do something that has been lacking so far this season. Defend properly.

2.) 05 Feb 2018 11:39:00
After watching Palace you feel we could beat them. After watching us eggs are feeling complacent.

31 Jan 2018 23:25:16
What's everyone thinking about Tosun being dropped and Niasse being brought in? I'm hearing tosun has been poor in training, I hope this isn't true the guy looks like he has potential, maybe it's kust Everton killed Sandro and looking more and more likely killing klaasen, and lookman out on loan? What's everyone's opinions?

BlueToffee94

1.) 01 Feb 2018 00:01:07
Can't see it to be fair. He's still new to the league, maybe just thought it'd be a battling game tonight which, at this stage of Tosun career, would be more suited to Niasse game at the moment. 2 weeks at a club doesn't usually make you a bad player. But, at the moment, with most Everton fans it seems, if we signed Messi and he didn't score a hat trick every 45 minutes, there would be a story or we've been ripped off etc. The lad just needs some bedding in time. All I've heard about him so far is 'He's ruined his career now signing for us" as he is destined for much bigger things.

26 Jan 2018 10:47:04
Regarding the fume about lookman potentially going out on loan I don't understand why everyone is fuming! In the games he's played he's got 3 goals, one of them on his debut and two against Limassol, when he comes on he looks upfront and scares opposition but he's also not got a great end product, that will be the reasoning he's going out on loan to improve on this, he's better out on loan rather than a sub appearance every other game.

BlueToffee94

1.) 26 Jan 2018 13:05:07
What annoys people is the likes of Schneiderlin, Williams, Martina and even Rooney and Siguurdson together, The first three hopelessly out of form with no sign of improvement and the latter two while talented patently cannot occupy the same space. Lookman offers more productivity than Schneiderlin, Williams and Martina combined so is shipped out on loan, add to him Klassen, Sandro and Vladic given no chance and it is all rather perplexing. If it is so obvious we cannot improve on mid table and are fairly certain of staying up why not change things and give the new recruits a chance. Oh and add Keane to the latter.

2.) 26 Jan 2018 13:40:05
Would anyone want to lose Niasse in January? I wouldnt, because he comes off the bench, gives his all and changes games. Exactly the same reason we need to keep Lookman. If he'd been awful when he come on then yeah, let him go, but for me, he has been pretty good off the bench.

3.) 26 Jan 2018 14:41:52
As regards Lookman the guy has had 1 league start and 5 off the bench and 4 cup starts and another 5 off the bench. In Cyprus he scored twice in a team that was made up of players not playing in the derby but having passports and being able to walk. He scores 2. One league start and about 17 mins 40 seconds in total off the bench. In that time he looks quick, skilful and direct. He must have wondered why he didn't get a chance in a tesm yhat could barely kick the skin off a rice pudding. He now finds himself down the pecking order from Bolassie, who has only been off crutches for about 10 days and Walcott who has spent a decade at Arsenal not delivering on his promise. I think that if I were Lookman I would be talking to Oumar about playing through rejection.

4.) 26 Jan 2018 14:48:03
Lookman is not getting enough game time, I believe they are only looking at a short loan to give him this.

5.) 26 Jan 2018 17:03:58
What is your basis for that belief?

6.) 26 Jan 2018 19:41:11
Don't loan him and play him, simple, that gives him game time, either use him as a weapon off the bench or as a starter to run at defenders, we constantly pick the ball up and look backwards and sideways because there is no movement in front or on the channels, pace scares fullbacks and has them defending deeper, for all this 'oh Sam is ahead of his time with analysis' he has failed to analyze and utilise the raw pace at his disposal, add to this the fascination of playing central attacking midfielders on the left and making them look bad because of what's behind them (Sigs and vlasic) and I really don't see him as the answer.
The excuse of having inherited Koemans squad wears thin with me, he has natural pacey wingers, yet doesn't use them, he now has an extra striker so can go 2 up top, yet persists with 2 non holding, non protecting, non forward moving midfielders.
Lookman should start ahead of Bolasie IMO, if your good enough your old enough, rant over.

7.) 26 Jan 2018 19:52:00
vlasic had a chance the other week and was taken off as he was woeful, sandro got a chance the other week off the bench and was woeful, he didn't even try, if a player isn't getting a chance there is reasons behind the scenes but when they do get an opertunity there not even showing willing then what's the point just get rid, over next two windows i want these players gone:

this window or summer
martina
williams
morgan
besic
sandro

loan this window
tarashaj (prem team)
baningime
vlasic
klassen

big clear out and bring in 3/ 4 players that are first team quality who are able to change a game.

8.) 27 Jan 2018 08:33:10
The Lookman situation has driven me crazy this season. He hasn't been given game time.

Sam also has it wrong with his statement you have one game to earn your place. It takes a consistent team to gel as long as there is effort. After the game you work on areas that need improving. Eventually you build a spirit and an understanding between you all.

That is the problem we have now. A bunch of quality players but individuals instead of a team.

{Ed025's Note - im with you john..

24 Jan 2018 10:12:50
Just saw that we are looking at hiring Marcel Brands he is currently DoF at PSV, this would see Walsh step aside to just being a scout. This would be a top quality move, he has signed some great players albeit in the Dutch League but Hirving Lozano looks a player and we were linked late last year. Any info eds?

BlueToffee94

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer.}

1.) 24 Jan 2018 15:13:32
Yeh BlueToffee mate, apparently Marcel Brands is one of two canidates Mr Moshiri is looking at as part of a senior management reshuffle.

01 Sep 2017 10:16:28
I am as miffed as anyone else but a few points to make, we lost no defenders that were around the first team, but bought in keane.

Koeman said he wanted a left sided defender? well Martina played there against Sevilla and did alright. We have Kenny and Holgate and I can't remember the other u23 right back, but he looks solid, Coleman will be back before we know it, so Holgate is then 4th choice CB. Kenny is backup RB to Coleman. Doesn't look that weak to me?

So defence: LB, Baines, Martina and Garbutt (I doubt he will ever play)
CB: Williams, Jagielka, Keane and (Holgate when Coleman is backfit)
RB: Martina, Holgate, Kenny and Coleman all capable of playing if required.

Midfield, no pressing concerns at all
Defensive Midfield: Schniederlin, Besic, Gueye and McCarthy (who looked good when fit last season) as well as Davies who plays slightly further forward.
Number 10: Sigurdsson, Rooney, Vlasic, Mirallas (for me his best position) Klaasen, Barkley (if he ever plays again)
Wide players: A mix of the above with Lookman, Lennon and Bolasie.

Now the dreaded attack, but hear me out here Kylian Mbappe was an unheard of kid 12 months no-one knew who he was he is now tto be the second most expensive ever player, I know we don't have a young forward like him but why are people writing players of after less than 10 professional games?

Our options: Rooney, Sandro, Calvert-Lewin, Mirallas (played here for Olymapaikos) and then we have a vast array of promising forwards in the u23's: Sambou, Henen (Koeman stopped him moving for some reason, maybe he sees something) Dyson (he looks a big strong player) , Byrne, Mathias, Donkor (plays best as inside forward) and Lavery. I know some of these will never make it, but let's hope one of these burst on the scene the same as a certain summer signing.

Don't write us off before we have started, Koeman said he likes to play the youth, we have plenty of young attacking talent, let's use it! I have seen people wanting youth to play, now is the chance. People are saying we will finish below our position last year well without Lukaku's goals last year we would of finished 7th. Have the teams below us strengthened that you now think these teams are superior to us? I think not: West Ham definitely not, Southampton no, Palace no, West Brom potentially will challenge but they stop playing when they reach 40 points, Watford good signings but think that every year they flatter to deceive so no, Bournemouth no, Burnley no, Brighton no, Newcastle no, Huddersfield no, Stoke well we have already beat them and can't see them doing much so no, Swansea they may as well be relegated now they will struggle even more this year,

Now onto the six above us these were hard to catch already maybe even more so now but we knew they would be stronger this year than ever: Spurs they will struggle with Champions league and a relatively small squad as well as the Wembley factor but I think they will still be up there, City look good however we contained them bar for poor tactics and one mistake we would have beat them, Chelsea their squad isn't that deep last year we got thrashed and played of the park by them with Lukaku in the team this year after 3 away games in 6 days we played poorly but they didn't open us up half as much as they did last year also we had a half fit Gueye and Sandro playing as well as a completely of it Davies. Man United who look unreal much as it pains me to say it, Champions. Liverpool, this is a strange one they bought in Salah who wasn't really required and Chamberlin who I completely don't rate they haven't strengthened the defence and still look vulnerable they also have Champions league which will take its toll they will struggle more than you think and now onto Arsenal this is a team in disarray they have a defence that looks extremely low on confidence, a midfield that is capable of being world class but never seems too and then a couple of strong strikers however Lacazette has already been dropped and an unhappy Sanchez this will effect the dressing room and remember they are not used to the Europa league schedule this will trouble them I see us being able to overtake these even without a recognised forward, I know we have the Europa league as well and it will effect us but I feel we will take it in our strides Rooney and Klaasen were there last year and will help in the dressing room.

Be positive, exciting times are ahead!

BlueToffee94

1.) 01 Sep 2017 10:46:28
I'll be interested to see which players are actually registered in our squads for the Premier League and the Europa League. If any aged-over-21 players are omitted, I'd ask why they weren't sent out on loan instead.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 15:10:41
Great post. I'm inclined to agree with most of this. not sure about west Bromwich challenging for 7th. I think that this is more within the possibilities for Watford, Leicester and southhampton. despite who they sold. non the less agree with most of it. nice one.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 16:48:35
Good Post,
Good explanations,
Good reasoning,
Good heavens well done mate.

Cheers Geoff for the notice of my post! We have a lot to offer, just because we didn't splurge 40 million on some striker doesn't mean we aren't going to progress. Was before my time but I'm sure we sold Linkekar never adequately replaced him and look what happened.

Come on we blues we have a lot to look forward to stop being negative!

I would love Ross to stay as I think he offers something else, statistics last year he was good better than GS in attempts created think he will benefit without having to pick rom out! GS for me isn't the be all and end all, there is better out there for the money (max Meyer, calhangou moved to Milan for less! ) GS is painfully slow at times, he can pass but I've never seen him dribble past a couple of players and run at the opposition which worries me, isn't much pace in our team now Geri and Rom have gone and bolasie has had the worst injury for a pace player! Benteke is just a link, he'd be a good target man to ping at and get runners in behind. Who are we looking at ed? Is Reideweild a serious option?

BlueToffee94

{Ed025's Note - giroud and gylfi are very much of interest BT, and yes reideweild is on our radar mate.
