Hi Eds,
I have heard a rumour that Ashley Young won't be joining as he doesn't want to move his family up north, is there any truth in him looking for a move elsewhere?

Happy new year, back to the madness of football transfers.
Any likelihood of the latest rumour flying around to happen? Danjuma on loan with an option to buy, sounds too good to be true.

I am not aware of any proposal for Everton to sign him on loan with an option to buy but he is a player that FL looked at for Chelsea - Villareal will sell if the asking price is met so Everton have an option.}

Ginger, totally agree mate. I made this point to a friend about Diaz recently. Strongest position is off the wide left but no point in signing him as he will be forced to play no9 with DCL being out more than he is fit.
We need a striker who can make things happen himself. We all know our supply from "creative" players does not exist.

I think we need to be realistic we’re a team in a relegation battle and we aren’t going to attract A list talent. The plus side I would say is he’s played in the prem before and knows what it’s about, that may help . All subject to if we get him. Having watched his video he is more of a 9 than a winger and he’s a penalty taker .

Why would I be kidding you? I didn't say La Liga isn't a top 3 league, I said that it is nowhere near as competitive (top to bottom) than the Prem.
Taking that into account, it wouldn't be silly to say that those numbers would dip a little bit in the Prem. A prime example being > Iago Aspas
It's not that i even think we could attract somebody with better stats Gibbo. It is the fact that this stinks of another stupid financial decision being made considering that the lad is rumoured to cost anywhere around £35-40 million.
Are you are telling me we can't get somebody in who has similar numbers for a much more sensible fee?
I am by no means a fan of Gray but he puts better numbers up than him and he cost 1.5 million to put some perspective on it.

I reckon if there's an issue with the Gana transfer then its between the player and PSG. Hope it gets sorted but not going to cry if not. These sentimental signings rarely end well, but would love this to be different.
Quite happy with the defensive signings we've made so far and for me I'd much prefer our efforts and whatever cash is concentrated on strikers right now. COYB.

With the 777 takeover (hopefully) going through soon, if it was to happen this window, is there any chance we use links to their other clubs to have Isaac Price return to the club from Standard Liege? I saw an interview from him a few days ago where he seemed pretty certain he didn't want to leave Everton.
And on that matter any chance there is any loans in the offing from other 777 clubs such as Genoa? I imagine this is all we can do in terms of business.

Doubt they'll be the new owners and impossible to finish with this window open. Man UTD clean deal for 25% took 18 months. Newcastle with a simple buyout took 12months. This is going to be lucky to end up done (whoever buys) by end of summer window. I personally hope what with all the rule changes in recent times that the powers ban multi club ownership within the same continent as least. It's poisonous to the game. The idea of feeder clubs is disgusting to me.

Jonjoe Kenny has been offered a 3 year deal. , interest from Germany and other PL clubs but I imagine he stays. Not a fan of this one personally, can see why Lampard wants to keep him as he's clearly a player he favours as backup but I'd rather have an actual left footer for backup at left back.
Probably means Delph is leaving on a free, as I imagine he would've been offered a contract already if we planned to keep him.
