What a difference the right people make to a football club.

Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman where such a disaster but I wonder who was more culpable.

Was it Koeman with his negative tactics in his second season. In his first he played attacking and fluid fast football that saw us have one of our best periods in the second half of that season that we've had in the EPL era.

Or was it Walsh with his purchase of three no10's and not one player to come in and replace the departing Lukaku.

Looking at the players Walsh brought in and the massive increase in quality of what Brands has brought in, with clear input from Silva (Richarlson), and the difference to what the right people can make to a football club is clear to see.

I honestly trust these two with the future of this club and do so more than anyone brought in over the last few years.

Long may this continue.

Just seen siggy possibly out next game, if so i would play bernard in number 10 role, Richiarlison left wing an tosun up front. Or would you play bernard number 10 role an lookmam in on left? Good to have options at least.

Bernard is to lightweight he was bulied off the ball today.

Agree0 1Disagree

12 Nov 2018 11:39:45
If siggy can't play then i'd drop richarlison to 10 and touson up front, , keep the rest of the team as it was.

{Ed025's Note - for me simon i would put bernard in the siggy role and lookman on the left, but thats just my opinion mate..

OK, after todays excellent performance, with tweeks to the squad who do you think Silva should go for in the January window to make us even better and stronger?

11 Nov 2018 21:28:34
Giroud if he gets divorced or grows a set.
Vardy, obviously these are both the wrong side of 30, but would do a job. I think we definitely need a proven premiership striker, and no mpre hopeful punts on strikers fron other leagues. I do actually like tosun though, just bad run start of season which shot his confidence. The lad hasn't become a bad finisher over night.

I’d definitely have Moses improved every season. Quality.

Someone that will quicken r attack, we have pace but cny use it, we must be one the slowest attacking teams in the league. Which is bad to say when we have talent and speed but can’t put the two together.

11 Nov 2018 16:32:33
Thought we did well today with a bit more belief we could have won, but one thing I did notice is we wasted a lot of corners and free kicks today some of them were a total waste and Walcott needs dropping. But still all in all a good performance.

Believable1 0Unbelievable

11 Nov 2018 16:39:59
I agree, playing short corners which end up going out for throw ins is a total waste when you have a 6ft 5 goal scoring centre half in the box. The second half that was probably best chance we had of scoring. Bernard an walcott both been wasteful. Think its fair to give lookman a start he's impressed when coming on.

11 Nov 2018 16:56:01
Good result today made up with it. I've said now for weeks about Walcott as for the corners we need an out and out striker we could play him for Walcott.

Bernard is a good addition but has wasted golden opportunities. I've been screaming out for Lookman for a over a year now.

{Ed025's Note - i think we all have BT..

Morning eds.
I may be incorrect here but I'm sure I remember when we were first linked with Gomez wasn't it Barcelona only wanted to sell and we wanted the loan that was what dragged it out until he got injured then the loan was the option.
Barcelona saying he's still very much part of there plans now is surely just good business sense as it will maximise what they can get in terms of transfer fee and is the sensible thing from there side compare it with Niassie as soon as koeman said he had no future and if he wanted to play he must leave Everton instantly is transfer value was massively reduced who would pay good money for anything that someone is so desperate to get rid of? As I say I may be wrong but there's just something in my mind that seems to remember it this way.

{Ed025's Note - as far as i remember james it was always going to be a loan mate, mind you i cant remember if i have put sugar in my tea these days.. :)

Sounds like were in same boat cheers ed just really bugging me and don't know why I seem to remember that I've tried searching and can't find anything must be going mad lol.

{Ed025's Note - join the club james.. :)

11 Nov 2018 23:05:42
I also remember this the reason it was a loan was to prove his fitness due to injury and lack of games. They obviously just trying to keep his value up. Got to get him in the summer for me and Zouma.

11 Nov 2018 18:27:17
James is right, Barcelona wanted a sale and touted him around, but in the end we opted for a loan move instead.

Sounds like me and you are in the same boat Ed, I get half way upstairs then forget what I was going up for, and have to come back down to remembe, no wet patches so ruled the toilet out.

{Ed025's Note - its old age bignev, one thing i can remember though is how happy i am with the way we are playing mate, and i can still recall how bad we were under allardyce which is a shame.. :)

Where's Mina the £35 million superstar from Barcelona? Why is he not playing? Needs time to settle does he? A bit like Fabinho so.

Notice you neglected to mention Richarlison, the player you were pissing yourself over when Everton bought hom.

Like others have pointed out, he only came back from injury just over a week ago, tune into the Chelsea game this weekend to catch a glimpse of him if you must.

I know it's early and things change through the season but could we have a good chance landing Gomez on a permanent basis?

{Ed002's Note - It would be a “maybe” rather than a “good” chance.}

Believable1 0Unbelievable

02 Nov 2018 21:00:36
Gomez seems a lot happier at Everton and that could be an important factor. A lot needs to be accomplished including his continued good form and Barcelona letting him go for a reasonable fee, but we can only hope that this works out to the satisfaction of all parties.

The lads on toffee tv said that Barcelona wanted us to buy him but we declined favouring a loan instead. I must confess that was the first I had heard of that but if true it bodes well.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Nov 2018 00:39:10
That's what I heard about the deal. Barcelona wanted us to sign him permanent and we wanted loan. Otherwise the deal would of been done ahead of deadline day. I'd be confident of a permanent deal if he continues to impress. Barcelona seem to not want him and he doesn't seem suited to their style. We have a good relationship with Barcelona I believe and think we could get a deal done.

I read an interview on either Marco or brands early in the season who said Barcelona wanted to offload Gomez and he was offered to ya because of the Digne and Mina deals. “We couldn’t afford to buy him so a loan was good choice! ” Or something along those lines.

Hi eds just wondering who is this Jesus corona ed 2 mentions.

{Ed002's Note - He is a RW from Mexico who plays for Porto having previously played for Twente in the Netherlands. He plays for the national side. Dortmund have considered him as a potential replacement for Christian Pulisic but have since moved on to look at other targets. There has also been some interest from elsewhere.}

Thorgan Hazard being linked to us.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

25 Oct 2018 11:06:00
i would do a little dance if we got him mate top player.

{Ed002's Note - The interest of Everton was when Sam Allardyce was manager and before Everton added to their collection of left wingers with the return of Lookman (who was expected by SA to be leaving), Bernard and Richarlison (and not forgetting Henry Onyekuru). Everton do not need another left winger right now - they need another right winger and that is why Jesus Corona has again been scouted.}

Love it when we report a rumour and Ed 002 comes along and destroys it with a fact, and a logical basis for it too.

{Ed002's Note - There is no doubt that he is a very good player (and attracting the interest of a high-profile side) but if Everton were to look at yet another LW it would have to lead to questions being asked. Right now cover for AM and RW would seem to be the highest priorities.}

Is Lozano a player we’ve looked at for RW Ed? I saw today that Chelsea are interested in him.

Is Lozano a player we’ve looked at for RW Ed? I saw today that Chelsea are interested in him.

{Ed002's Note - Yes he has been looked at, but realistically there is an issue with Everton looking to PSV for players and there are other sides interested.}

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Oct 2018 08:21:16
RW must be a high priority? Why? I’m sure Bernard, Lookman or even Richarlison can play as a RW?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, many players can play out of position. Let's hope the club stop looking at RW and buy many, many more LW players.}

I am sorry I posted now (not really) . In all seriousness, if we are looking to play Richarlison in a more central role (which I believe is the managers possible tactical idea with him) then that then leaves us a little weaker in numbers although at the end of the day quality is always better than quantity. It was just a rumour I picked up and had no basis other than that. Thanks for info Ed002. What will be will be.
