So. Massive game for Big Sam against City.
If he sticks with a winning side and gets beat he'll probably get slated for not changing it.

If he sticks and wins, everyone will say it was expected.
If he changes the team and loses everyone will be asking why he has changed it. And if he changes it and we win, it will be a miracle.
And if he brings Schneiderlin back in and loses, he might as well clear out his locker on the Monday.

He could play the same 11 plus another 4 and we'd still lose to City!

Have a great record against City at Goodison, something about City seems to bring out a performance from Everton at the old Lady.

Just a bit of banter, but has anyone else noticed that whenever a Merseyside Derby is coming up, people request any spares from a long lost uncle, niece etc who has luck would have it are flying over from the states, Australia, timbuttwo and just happen to be in the Country for the Derby.

Well something different from the usual Sam, new stadium, bill posts.

{Ed033's Note - Is timbuttwo a close friend of Milo Yiannopoulos? Maybe tim comes from Timbuktu.

Eds: As a number of utd players will become available which players do you feel we would have a chance of signing. Blues: What utd players would you like us to get in. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It would be wise for you to think about how Everton will use Smalling.}

Believable0 0Unbelievable

20 Mar 2018 17:47:20
I think Everton could use Smalling at the back. of the top balcony as a steward!

{Ed025's Note - im with you brian..

I'd have Valencia as backup for Coleman. Pogba as back up for Davies and Lukaku as back up for Tosun.
I probably leave the rest.

20 Mar 2018 19:35:41
Joking aside, I'd have Luke Shaw and Ander Hererra.

{Ed025's Note - i think herrera is awful oll..

Have that young Scottish lad. maybe the keeper as back up. Otherwise I think Fenerbache and co can scrap for mediocrity.

A lot of rags saying today Fonesca will not renew his contract this year and is looking towards a new challenge in the Premiership with Mr Moshiri still very keen on him, mmmmm watch this space.

Do you know what GB the more I see this story, true or not the more it excites me, till the end of the season I will try to support Sam and hopefully we can have a strong finish.
But I think we need an overhaul from top to bottom we need to start a new era for Everton FC, I don't even bother listening to rumours about the players we are interested in as we don't know who will be in charge come August would we really start talking to agents if Sam wants a player if he's going at the end of the season.
All we can do as fans for now is get behind the team then come that last game in May hope we get a quick decision and statement about what happens next, and hopefully look forward to that first game at Goodison.

{Ed025's Note - with you all the way lee..

Rumours of Joe Bryan and Luke Shaw as summer targets for depth at left back
I hear Luke Shaw is out of contract but there is a year option whether he is likely to come to Everton or not could one of the Ed’s enlighten me, do these options mean that the club can simply extend for another year and in doing so would be able to get some fee of can the player refuse the option so he is a free agent? 🤔.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the contract. I believe in Shaw's case it is the club's option to decide whether to extend or not. Some are automatically extended when a player hits some kind of target such as appearances or goals. If I remember correctly Shaw's is simply a club option to add on a year. Depends on how badly they want rid I guess.}

Thanks Ed just had me intrigued.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. Usually they come down to finances - is his value to sell worth more or less than getting his wages off the books? Having to take into accounts agents fees, the players 5% of the fee (unless he puts in a transfer request) and all the other payments sometimes it is worth just letting them go.}

Agree1 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 06:40:18
So things like the agent fee and the players 5% does that come out of the fee or is that then on top of the fee?
So when a manager is told they have fund from any player sales if they lose £20m of talent what they get in is actually quite a bit less to use on new players.

{Ed001's Note - the 5% comes directly from the fee received. Plus there is another 5% due to clubs that have developed the player as a youngster. So you sell a player for £20m and the maximum the club can receive is £18m, before any taxes, agent fees, solicitors fees etc. Sometimes a club will also have to factor in paying some of the sold players salary to get them to go, such as when Leeds paid a significant portion of Robbie Fowler's wages for years after they sold him. Which is why, in the end, it can be easier to just release them on a free, especially when you look at some of the agent fees currently being charged. They can amount in the millions on their own very easily.}

Wish they would hurry up, every years precious these days.
Will miss the old lady, started off in the boys pen in the sixties, moved onto Gladys street in the seventies, then the paddock in the eighties, finally had a box late eighties/ nineties. Only get to a couple of games a season now but still get the same buzz walking up to the ground. Hope it’s the same in our new home.

In fairness Guernsey Blue it’s to be expected a bit of negativity given what we all been through of late communication wise, team wise and everything going wrong in a season that promised so much .
Only Everton could grab disaster out of such a massive opportunity!

A lot of rags saying we have been in contact with Marcel Brands, maybe we are going to get an overhaul of backroom staff after all, with Elstone off and Bill rumoured to leaving, could be this is all part of Mr Moshiri, s dream for the future at Everton.

Just a thought, with all the talk of Bill going, Elstone and Woods, could Moshiri be taking over their shares, possibly owning them outright or in partnership with a Russian friend of his, maybe wishful thinking. but you never know.

17 Mar 2018 12:06:02
Aren't there some Everton shares missing and untraceable? Thus in effect Mr Moshri already has the majority required.

Everton are hoping to sign Arsenal's 26-year-old England midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free transfer this summer. (Mirror) 

Sam Allardyce will try to sign Manchester United and England centre-back Phil Jones, 26, for Everton if he is still manager at Goodison Park next season. (Times - subscription required)

That's all we need two more injury prone players on big wages.

14 Mar 2018 06:23:14
Rumour Everton are after Wiltshire now. How many games would we get out of him in a season. My opinion is that besides the injury record, the bloke is yet another over hyped player, that we seriously do not need. If we are a Club of ambition so far we are showing precious little of it. Who the heck is in charge of our recruitment policy.

Believable3 2Unbelievable

14 Mar 2018 07:40:18
I think Jack Wheelchair has ability but his injury record speaks for itself and I have reservations about his attitude and off-field shenanigans. I see we're also being linked with Phil Jones; dear god, please no.

14 Mar 2018 09:13:47
paper rubbish hopefully.

14 Mar 2018 11:31:06
I agree his injury history is alarming but he's played more in the last 2 seasons than he had for many a year before.

For anyone to question his talents? Maybe Stevie Wonder could. He is a very very good player but I don't think we need him. Saying that. he is out of contract so the numbers wouldn't be a risk.

He is better than what we've got.

Agree6 1Disagree

14 Mar 2018 13:18:24
If he can stay injury free he's a decent player. If. It's a gamble. Anyway, who's to say Sam will still be in charge.

Agree2 0Disagree

14 Mar 2018 18:17:55
Someone is on the wind up over Phil jones surely? (Hopefully! )

Wiltshire played well for Bournemouth I think, and he’s had a good run for a couple of seasons now. Would be worth a gamble for free.

{Ed001's Note - he did not play well for Bournemouth, the fans complained that he basically just stood in the centre circle and they rescued their season when he was out injured, because he was injured for a lengthy spell last season, as he has been again this time.}

14 Mar 2018 22:06:57
I stand corrected Ed. Steer clear then!

I always thought he was a bit of a Barkley type player but one who can actually find decent pass
However I do think that most rumours at this time for the first team are simply rumours and speculation.
