Away from the doom and gloom, this summer it looks like we need 6 or 7 players. What does everyone else think?
I'm thinking.

Because our season is over and we have and continue to play with effectively 6 or 7 out field players, Sigurdsson, Gomes Walcott and more recently Richarlison are passengers, I would play the younger talent to test their mettle and see if, with an extended run, they could cut the mustard in the EPL.
I would go as far as recalling Williams and Dowell and throw them in the mix. Williams may bring the industry and bite in midfield along side Gana, who was brilliant yesterday, and Davies, with McCarthy and Dowell offering an alternative, using Dowell in a Sheedy like role wide left with his educated left foot.
Of course this is never going to happen because our technically naive and stubborn manager will continue to pick out of form players and hope for improved performances and different results.

Regardless what formation we play and play youngsters. We lack firepower therefore let’s get more solid. 442 at home and 451 away.
Pickford
Kenny
Keane
Zouma
Digne
Gueye
Gomes
Lookman
Richarlison
Calvert-Lewin
Tosun (not the answer but no other striker)

Away from home swap Tosun with Bernard or Sigurdson in a no10.

At the moment it’s more 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 and our fullbacks are left exposed and midfield is weak.

I went the midweek game against City and Tom Davies was everywhere, until we brought Siggerson on.

Nothing against Siggerson but Tom Davies seems to excell when Siggerson is on the bench.

{Ed025's Note - most of the team do bignev, hes been a liability for a while now mate..

Spot on Ed, there lyes our problem, Silva mixes it against City and we played a lot better, then he goes back to the same players dropped against City, and starts them against Watford.

{Ed025's Note - thats one of the reasons hes in trouble mate..

StB I think you are spot on pragmatic football is what we need and I would play the same formations at the moment but I would also get rid of zonal marking go back to man to man and make a decision on the defence on how they play defending not so much going forward. Sorry but I said this when SA was in charge why loose 4-3 when you can draw 0-0. And yes I would rather watch rubbish winning football than pretty loosing football before you all kick off. I don't believe that at the current time we have the stability to pick and choose players or managers that would be able to play expansive winning football unless the manager is given time, who ever that manager is. Any manager of quality will need 3-4 seasons to get it right, Everton is not a short term fix and in my opinion we need to accept that and live with what we have. If the management think Silva is the man then so be it.

Said it for years SA90, same as when we all played, play to win by doing your best. 1-0 I would take everytime.
