I know this might sound silly, but could we not play Baines at LB and Digne as our left winger or vice versa, put Bernard on the right and have Lookman and Richarlson up Front. We struggle on the right and up front. We always seem to get the ball in our area but no one is ever there!

I said exactly the same after yesterday's game i thought Baines was back to best and think that doubling him and digne could work.

Aussie, actually not a bad call. Bainsie Peanut one of the best partnerships. Bainsie Digne could be good temporarily till we find a future partnership for Digne Plus A. N. Other.

lw is our strongest position we don't need to play baines there he's a solid sub if he's happy with that give him a new contract and stop putting players in the wrong position for me like.

Totally agree with Johny LB and LW are totally different positions.

But Baines has never been a LB if you understand the concept. Baines and Coleman are WB's, neither are particular good one on one defenders. Both are excellent players, loyal and receive the respect they deserve, justifiably so.

Disagree as they both play predominantly in a back 4 WB’s tend to play forward of 3 CB’s.

Interesting post, but only leaves 2 midfield slots? Siggy/ Gomes? what about Gueye? What about any holding midfielder?

They do play forward though wakka. Look at the difference now particularly at RB with Kenny.
