I said yesterday I'd leave it to Silva to pick the side for Southampton. I think he got it wrong. I think he failed to understand our need, our desire, our impatience to win a trophy with this great club after so many years without one.

I think he saw it as a chance to look at a few players which I can understand but not at the risk of losing a tie that we should have won and knocking our confidence which was beginning to come back after Fulham
I hope there's been lessons learned but instead of having a chance in 2 competitions we are down to one (with the greatest respect the league isn't achievable this season) the FA Cup which doesn't start for us for a couple of months. We needed to be involved in the Carabo Cup which was our best chance of a trophy
A missed opportunity thrown away

Let's face it we're not going to finish in the top 6, so the cups were a good way to get some results to build on so why 7 changes from a winning side last Saturday never mind one cup down another one to go let's hope we can win that one.

Disappointing result but it may be that Silva has been told that a decent league position in vital this season and he is able to experiment in the cups to make sure he has the correct personnel to take the team forward. We all know that we would love to win some silverware it just may not be the managements priority at this time.

Look on the bright side guys we can concentrate on staying in the prem, we are a pretty crap team and that must be our priority.

Oh dark clouds. You can always be relied upon for your little rays of sunshine.
FYI I don't think we are a crap side and do believe we will be in the top 6=8 by the end of the season.
I won't bother asking your forecast.

To manage Efc you have to get Efc but I don't think MS does and last night merely confirms this.
