At this very moment in time I'm seriously worried that we are going to be relegated this season. 80% of are first team squad are simply not good enough or are coming to the end of their careers.

We need at least 1 centre back, a left back. Possibly a cm depending on what MS thinks of besic who I really rate personally.

A lw maybe Richarlison? Or lookman?

More support for midfield as Davy Klassen is useless.

Worrying times at the moment but hopeful we can turn it around.

Gonna have to bear with them SL, that’s the only advice I can give you. Going to be a transition season imo. MS needs support, he needs time he needs a core of ‘his players’. We all have our opinions, worries and ideas but will collectively want the same thing. Zonal Marking has never been for me but some teams have made it work really well. Sandro was better today I admit, but is he ultimately good enough? I don’t know? I have my worries with TD, don’t think he is quick enough and take the surfer boy look away, the fact he is a local and I think a huge amount of others would say the same thing but. I will again have to reserve my judgement and hope that he like the team progress over this season.

Relegated, seriously? because you lost a friendly? come off it. We lost 3-1 am I bothered? nah I couldn't care less, preseason us all it's about is getting the players fitness levels up. You do have a capable squad but it'll take time, you won't be getting relegated mate. It's not as if you got smashed 22-0.

Haha yeah not to positive but it's not great is it? . Who from are squad would get into the top 6 teams squads? . And no salah it's not a knee jerk reaction to the Porto game it's been going on from last season.

Poor signings and the failure to replace aging players like Jags and baines etc have set us back a few seasons imo.

We have probably 6-10 players in are first team squad who just aren't good enough and never will be and if it isn't partly addressed before the season begins I fear for us and Marco Silva this season.

Nice to read an honest opinion Sir Loin, I like you fear for my team so we are both probably disliked here at the moment but we say what we believe even if it is a bit unpalatable for many.

sir loin I will go on record right now that if we finish lower than 8th ill wear a liverpool kit for the first game of the following season in the gwladys wer my season ticket is, have faith in silva mate we will be 7th at worst this year 5th at best.

We will get relegated, how on earth could we lose a friendly 1-0 and draw against Bury?
Lets get rid of Silva, he's had enough time to mould us into a top 4 side. I'm just getting prepared for when the season starts. How many games should we give him before we demand his head on a plaque?

As I said and it's not a knee jerk reaction to this pre season. It's going of last season as well. We spent on the wrong players and failed to replace aging players.

This can never really be done in 1 window but it was a process that needed to begin a few years ago. We tried but again we signed the wrong players.

The club is trying to rectify that by bringing in Brands but I honestly do believe we will struggle this season as things stand!

Well Sir_Loin, I think I have been usurped as the most negative of the Blues! In reality, you have some valid points, but I think you are jumping the gun a bit. The first 3rd of last season was spent without Bines, Coleman and Jags in the main. We had Martina, Kenny and a mixture of Holgate, Williams, Keane and the tea lady filling an at center back. We conceded goals like billyo! But when Jags, Baines and Coleman returned, the ship steadied and we climbed the table. I truly believe that Jags is too past it. but is still clearly our best center back. The same goes for Baines. bith need replacing now/ soon. Coleman has a couple more seasons left. So the doom mongering is a little premature. I am hoping Holgate at 21 is now ready to step up and Keane shoild be able to be man enough to show some leadership skills. If the Brazilian signs, that also sorts the left side. If Siggy, Davies and Gueye can sort the middle we can then play Tosun and Walcott too. suddenly the team is starting to take shape. But next season? Jags at 37 and Baines at 34? No way. and either is likely to suffer strains and pulls this season. so we need back up better than Martina, Williams and Kenny I feel. Kenny has potential but as yet is not ready in my humble opinion. So relegation? Not this season I hope. but we still need to replace Jags and Baines.
