Malcom off to Roma, sigh.

Let’s be honest, no one really knows who we are after. The Malcom thing seemed to appear out of the blue (SSN blue) one night.

{Ed001's Note - it was just an enquiry, like all the others (apart from Roma) you were put off by the price.}

Just wondering ed, when big reputable sources like sky who are usually reliable and L'equipe saying talks were at an advanced stage, who is it who would leak that information. Is it Bordeaux? The agent? Surely people in everton wouldn't release it beacause now he is going elsewhere, it feels from the outside like a defeat. Personally I'm disappointed.

{Ed001's Note - when Sly say 'Sky sources say', it generally means they have sourced it from the internet. A few times I know they have taken information I have posted up on a site and claimed it as 'sky sources say' before now. I have no idea what it even means when they talk about bids or advanced stages. Bids are almost unheard of these days, teams are almost always in talks with other clubs. Most of it is just journo talk to spice up an otherwise humdrum story of a quick phone call or meeting to ask if a team is willing to sell a player and get ballpark figures if they are etc.}

Ah okay thanks mate. I know it's random with the rumours of Loftus Cheek, do you have any idea what will happen with him now he's back from the World Cup?

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to stay with Chelsea, I am told he is excited at the prospect of working with Sarri. It is Drinkwater they are particularly looking to offload. However, I doubt they would be against taking an offer for Loftus-Cheek either to be honest, if the offer was right.}

So disappointed. This rumour really got me excited, but if it's felt that the price cannot be justified then so be it.

I know Moshiri is relatively rich, EPL prize money and TV rights are substantial so no doubt we could afford it, it's good to see we are not willing to waste money on over inflated fees.

Naturally it's gutting to not get such a talented player, same with Tierney if that had any truth to it, but it does at least show the calibre of player Brands is looking at. If he dropped out over price then my guess is it's because there are other options that interest him almost as much. If he wasn't monitoring other transfer options then that's when we'd likely pay over the odds for someone. Again, just my guess.

{Ed002's Note - Moshiri cannot simply pour money in to Everton.}

The feeling from most Evertonisns is that he will invest - this does not mean he’ll buy at any price. He’s a billionaire because he makes good business decisions after all. If we are going in for the likes of Mina and Malcolm, we can at least be enthused by the quality of the targets - hopefully one or two will come off!

Ed you should totally make up one and see if sky claim "sky sources say" something like Phil Jones is close to signing for Everton for 18 million.

{Ed001's Note - somebody did do that years ago on Arsenal and it made sports papers all over the globe. When Ed007 did an April Fool's Day gag one year about someone sponsoring Celtic, it also did the same. I have seen Balague copy and paste quotes I put up direct from a player's father before on his website. One of his ghost writers just happened to help out as an editor on here then. Not that I am suggesting anything of course!}

Moshri is a business Man who has invested in Everton, Everton is just a part of his portfolio. As Ed (s) say he/ they (investors) cannot and will not just pour money into one project, what they do is help a project develop and it takes time.
