I just had a quick look and, as far as I can see, 16 of the 20 Premier League teams have now added to their squads.

I know that a lot has been written on these boards about the need to make the *right* purchases and not repeat the scatter-gun approach of last year, and I totally agree with that. I also agree with the argument that the most important thing, long term, was to create a cohesive structure to the club.

However, I am now a little concerned about the total lack of new arrivals. I'd argue that, in order to position ourselves for the future, we need to maintain our 'best-of-the-rest' tag - some of you might, justifiably, say that's unambiguous, but I'm trying to think both realistically and longer term. If West Ham, Newcastle or Leicester sort themselves out, if Wolves, Fulham or even Huddersfield step up, then we could have a problem that goes beyond the coming season. Obviously, it's extremely unlikely that ALL of those mentioned will have great seasons, but it only takes one or two.

I'm not a doom merchant, and I do think there is some genuine quality in the squad, but I really would like to see us get some business done soon.

Please?!

For all we know, we were in for some of the players that have moved. Do we want to buy any old player? Or players that will improve the squad? Really top players are going to be sought after so it won’t be easy.

You have to consider that the team under performed last season and maybe some of the players that didn’t feature last year will come in and be like new signings. Silva sees them every day so I’m happy to go on his opinion.

Yes Leicester - hopefully Silva can get the likes of Davies and DCL firing again! On paper, our squad is a good one. Some deadwood yes, but if we can pass a few more on, and add 2-3 quality signings, we shouldn’t have a bad season.

I believe there is a money problem and we need to sell first and nobody wants our rejects because they are on to higher wages.
We do know the wages have to be cut and this is a bigger problem than we realise. Yes I am worried about the lack of signings, would have expected 1 or 2 in before now as the window is closing soon.
Wish I could find something to be positive about, hope things change.
