As most have read, some reports are now saying that Sam and Staff may well stay and fulfill their contract. I feel the same as most but let's look at it like this. If Mr Moshri does indeed have a long term plan then 18 months/ 2 years could/ will bring the stability that will help that plan well on its way. Looking at it dispassionately if we do manage to retain 8th place, isn't that a job well done on his behalf. The only question in my mind has been, could Unsy or Koeman have achieved the same if allowed to remain in post.

Allardyce will only have 12 months left on his contract and that will no doubt cause issues with players downing tool next season if all doesn't start well. I can't see Moshiri letting that happen. He will either get an extension or the bullet.

If we do stick with Sam we stagnate for 12 months. We will find it hard to entice quality players with a manager who is going to manage them for 12 months, get off then be possibly dumped by the next manager. Players are looking for ambitious projects to be involved in with a clear plan and direction.

Also we would spend a fortune on players 1 manager is going to use then next year with a new manager we have turmoil again.

Stability must start THIS summer AND with a NEW LONG TERM manager. No ifs or buts.

There is a few managers that Everton could get this Summer, a window of opportunity which I feel will close if we wait until next Summer, think we need to strike this Summer.

Personally I feel that if we bring in Brands as rumoured then he will assist in the recruitment of a new manager which is why his role is the first thing that needs to be done.
I can’t see Sam remaining or working with Brands he won’t like that set up so I think we’d look for a head coach who would.

If it is true it is the biggest mistake Moshiri could make.
The manager is the most critical position in any club. It is the position, more than any other position, that you need to have the right person in place as he influences all the other roles within the club.
THERE ARE NO BENEFITS IN KEEPING SAM.
There is no increase in stability as people do not know what is going on long term.
What do we tell new possible players? 'We are going to try and stay mid table for a year or two and then get a new manager who can hopefully take us the next step. Hopefully the new manager then will want you so commit 20-30 % of your career to us'

To Klassen, Lookman, Vlasic, Ramires, Funes More of course you have a future - hasn't Sam shown you that

To possible managerial targets your not good enough now, Sams better, but maybe in a year or so

To the fans 'Of course we've got a plan to make Everton grow - can't you see it'

I have a feeling Silva will be our next boss. We were desperate to sign him and he has yet to get another job. Read somewhere that a couple of clubs wanted him but he turned them down. May be true, may not be true. Just makes you think that he is holding out for the Everton gig.

It makes little sense. Why risk it? What's more stable? A manager with 12 months left who is disliked (see questionnaire ahem)
Or a manager that is bought in afresh, with a tricky summer to assemble a few new faces and to be ready for pre season and all the optimism that should give? likely on a 4 year contract, nice and stable.

If we go this way ( I don't believe it for a second) we will surely end up missing out on a pretty healthy pot of managers looking for work. And when the inevitable sacking in November happens, guess what? We write off another season and end up well and truly being the chuckle brothers of the EPL.
