Now this is going to be a unpopular post!

If we look at the premier league since SA took over, points wise, we would be 6th in the league!

I am not his biggest fan but stats don't lie. Football is rubbish but if you look at the stats, its working.

So here is the big questions: do the facts matter or do we just want pretty football?

That by the way is not me being arsey just didn't know a better way to put the question.

6th so can I ask do the teams around us play terrible football the answer is no you can make any stat look good as we are near the bottom for chances created goals scored possession ECT we deserve a manager who understands the club and the history when that manager comes in I'm hoping he will be given the time to get us challenging the top 6.

Good point. Remember the chant '1 nil to the Arsenal'. Remember our team of the 80's hard working, sometimes doubling up in the tackle. Successful sides the two of them, yet many games ended 1-0, we didn't hear much criticism then. Sam has done the job asked of him, his selfrighteous attitude is galling and his claiming of the West Ham win for his own is deplorable. The main question is however, does Mr Moshri believe that Sam is the man to take us forward and having sent the survey out, what was the point if he ignores the results.

Just think where we would have been if someone had turned up who got us creating chances.
both Chelsea and Arsenal would have been catchable this season had we
attacked some of the teams we just sat back against.

If you want to go with stats, one shot on goal last night, if anyone is a dab hand at stats, I would love someone to put up stats of shots on goal since Sam took over, possession and compare it to any single club in the premiership, my guessing is, we would be in the bottom three, possession wise against our neighbours in the Anfield Derby and City at Goodison are disgusting, 1 all against Swansea and holding out for a draw putting a defender on than go for it.

Not the manager I want to see in charge next season, if he was happy with our style of play last night.

Football has changed since then ducksflysouth. The type of football Allardyce is offering up doesn't warrant a place in the 21st century. It's not sustainable and is quite possibly the easiest brand of football for an opposing team to play against. Without being condescending, I often think to myself whether the people contempt with Allardyce's 'football' have ever even kicked a ball in their life.

We've beaten the teams that, realistically and no disrespect to them, we are expected to beat. For some, that might be fine, but to show any ambition as a club, it isn't what we need right now. We need to push on further, think it's clear that isn't with Allardyce at the helm.

Would love to see them stats to bignev. They will be dreadful!

AM not support SA here but just thought it was a good stat to share.

Accompanying the fact that form wise we would be 6th since he took over (just about as we've played more than the other teams) was the fact that over the same period, we were 19th in total shots, shots on target and chances created.

I have hit on this before, if Sam can rub fans up the wrong way, play football that is dire, but at the same time, get a win here or there, he has done enough to warrant not being sacked without a payoff.

If Sam played various players and we dominated and ran out 2 nil winners, that would make a stronger case to keep him next season.

So again we know Sam is money motivated, my honest opinion is he is deliberately not going all guns blazing, in order to get the golden handshake when the season is over, and still get the same amount if he was stood on the touch line, what he can then do is sit back, wait for a struggling team next season, and get another bumper contract with them, on top of the pay off from Everton.

I really don't think people on here can see the state the team was in when Sam came in, we were in free fall, we didn't have a team of brilliance, it's not a matter of saying right boys let's start passing the ball around because we are good at that, leave your selves wide open for the counter attack because are defensive record is fantastic, ever part of our team when Sam came in was as poor as it ever has been, what can't people see that, keoman tried playing football, how many goals did we concede, unsy tried and how many goals did he conceded, so Sam come in tries to play pretty football and what do you think was going to happen, he has looked at the weaknesses, and tried to plug the holes be more compact, yes it's crap football, yes I don't want us to play like that, but we are now safe up to 8th, stop wineing about how he done, be greatfull he has, do you think WBA and Southampton would swap there style for premiership safety, yes the bloody would,
