I know that this post will read as a fan's knee-jerk melodramatic over-reaction - and I know that backing everyone (whoever they are and whatever job they do at the club) is part of supporting the club - but if Allardyce is still in charge for next season (with all that means for player recruitment, development of youngsters, playing style, ambition, etc. ) , then I will seriously question why I've been an Evertonian for 55 years.
I was prepared to give him a chance when he arrived - and he has been important to averting the real threat of relegation we were facing - but I've seen no sign that he can move on from just being the firefighter who keeps clubs in the Premier League.
I see no imagination or adaptability or bravery in tactics, no obvious player development, no motivation or encouragement or leadership - just a manager/ coach who relies on statistics and doles out meaningless comments and actually thinks the fans know nothing (he treats us with patronising condescension and contempt) .
If Moshiri doesn't act decisively, then - despite all the positivity of his arrival - our hopes will be dashed and another false dawn will be added to the long list of the past 30 years. I don't expect us to become a "big" club (i. e. genuine challengers - hopefully winners) without an almighty effort on and off the field, but I do expect us to show intent and not just settle for being inferior and ambling along in mid-table (maybe as high as 7th! ) and happy to take the broadcasting money (while that lasts! ) and never even getting a sniff of cup-run.
Thanks for reading; I have to take my medication now and lie down for my therapy ;-)

Bobby, couldn’t agree more. I’ve been an Evertonian for 62 years and don’t like what I am seeing now either on the pitch or off it. Never would I have expected a club of Everton’s stature in the game ask for whether they are happy or whatever with the manager. This must be an embarrassment for the manager whether he is popular or not. Amatuerish doings from above.

I know we’ve all got to move on and not live in the past but things would have been done a lot differently if John moores was around today and correctly.

Keen17: agree about Sir John Moores - he’d have “got the taxi” for Allardyce by now - in fact, I doubt he’d have let him near our club in the first place.
