Better than the City game so far but they need to get at them more and do more when they have possession. Yannick was u/ l with his effort on goal but his general play could be better, especially his defensive duties. Dare I say Shneids is doing okay. I hope Sam doesn't make them play too safe second half as I think with one or two tweaks we could actually get something out of this game. 🙃.

Oh well, Liverpool were far from at their best but we just couldn't find the answer to break them down. Clean sheet and another point though so not all doom n gloom.

{Ed025's Note - we have to remember that this was liverpool reserves though BigH, a points a point but still very poor for me mate..

we had 12 touches in Liverpool’s penalty area in the last 10 minutes (plus added time) - 5 more than they had in the first 80 minutes.

I am left strangely apathetic by that display. We didn't try and win until the last 15 minutes against Liverpool reserves yet part of me says at least we didn't lose.
Substituted Rooney and Davies for Baningamie and Gueye so we were left with not one, not two but three defensive midfielders yet our best chances came after the substitutions. Was that a chance lost or a good performance against a better team, albeit their second eleven.

On balance I think we missed a chance.

Oh I agree Ed025, it was poor and as you say against what amounted to their second stringers. Just looking for any positives I can get I guess. Under different management I think the outcome and effort would have been better so under the circumstances a point isn't too bad.

{Ed025's Note - it was what i expected BigH, we are not good and they played a weak side so all in all it was a fair result, i have to be honest i expect more from my team than to just make the numbers up mate..

Okay ed there was quality missing but we just aren't set up right this season at all. So for me, to put up a fight, control parts of the game, defend well and cause a threat is a good showing. The main improvements have to wait until summer when we can recruit a new manager and players but for me we done well with what we have. Plus we have not alwaysss showed fight and determination this seaon, I lover a tryer.

{Ed025's Note - i feel you are being too complimentary tit, if liverpool,s second string can hold their own against us mate then its a very sad day in our history for me mate..

I think it shows how far our expectations have dropped this year that we feel 0-0 is a good result and yes, I would have taken it if offered it before kick off.
At the start the Everton fans tried to copy what the pool fans had done to Man City, booing them when in possession. They had to stop because they were all losing our voices as the pool passed it around without any pressing from the players so you can't fault the fans for their support
Low expectations? Same regarding Scheiderlin, he was OK but that's all. He wasn't a game changer but I guess we must be glad of small mercies.
Bolassie? Hasn't a final ball in him most of the time and ill disciplined in his play.
We missed a chance to beat them because we didn't believe we could until the last 10 minutes.
