In regards to this Niasse . it was only 12 months a go most on this site was calling for us not to sogn alencia because he came onto the pith worked hard and was apparently feat in the dressing room.

Not that I agree that he should of been treated the way he was by Koeman, Koeman got a lot of things wrong but he didn't get it wrong that niasse wasn't good enough.

Hope we do love him on this summer as much as he is a nice guy an all that. Are attack needs sorting out sharpish an he shouldn't be part of it. Ship him out whatever the price.

Everton the gear.

Hey Jimbo, Niasse is certainly lacking in some basic needs as a Premier footballer. His positional sense is wierd. His defending at set pieces is non existent. But he also does disrupt other defences. Particularly when coming on as a sub and his energy levels are quite high. He has scored a few and has set up a few. I think our problemlies deeper than just needing another forward. We seem to have an inability to push forwards in the numbers required to create consistant pressure. and when we do, the defenders we have are not good enough to cover without having 2 or 3 defensive mids to help. The goal we scored last week was great. But it was our only chancee and too many times this season we have played 90 mins and only created one chance in a game. That is not because of a lack of a decent striker. It is because of what I have said many times. We just need more forwards thinking players and ones who go up and down the pitch rather than side to side. Midfielders who score goals. Full backs who score goals. Defenders who get the odd one. Like we were 5 or 6 seasons ago. Nearly every player chipped in with a few. We were having 60% or 70% possession regularly and creating 15 chances per game. Even the best striker in the world will not score goals if no one is providing him assists. that's the way I see it. I know some disagree with me. But just watch the next few games and see how many shots we have and how many chances are wasted. which is not many. that's not down to needing a new striker. that's down to a weakness throughout the team. DCL has worked his flippin socks off and is always trying to hold the ball up. but no one follows up with him. We clear it to him and most of the time he manages to hold it up for a second or so. but then loses possession and we are back to defending.

100% agree with Degsy, I remember when we had Baines and Pienaar down the left both complimented each both attacked and defended, look at the players that have gone that were forward thinking players still too many passes backwards and sidewsys.
Tosun will need the service to do what he does best Sig needs to play in the middle and 2 wingers who will take on defences. we all have opinions about what team we should put out but I bet we are all in agreement that we want to see us attack more.

If we play Sigurdsson in the number 10 we will have a far more effective attack. And Tosun will have closer support than DCL has had this season so far.

As good as Kenny has been at right back, Coleman scares defences with his attack minded running with pace in possession. Something close to that on the left with maybe Lookman then I can see us creating more chances.

We are creating far less now than we use to that’s for sure. But I think the answers are in the squad with maybe just a left back and a left wing needed if we’re not going to use Lookman as much.

Fair assessment degsy.

Part of it is also the age of players being used. Kenny, DCL and Lookman are fantastic prospects but their age makes them inconsistant. Schneid is so imobile and to some extent so is Sigs but with Gueye in the team there is little support to any forward. and we all know Rooney is slowing up. We need more dynamic players. Bolasie's return is good news but he is another with a poor goal return. 14 goals in his last 6 seasons. Less than 3 a season. We need more like him for running at players with the ball but our team is so lacking goals. A forward is not the answer. More goalscoring midfielders and defenders is the answer.

Hopefully Degsy, Bolasie and Coleman plus an attacking LB will ease some of that. Would like to see us get Walcott too, he ticks a lot of the boxes were missing. Schneids needs replacing with someone like Rooney or another Barkley type player. Someone who can bring the ball forward, pick a pass and also drop back if Gana bombs forward. Most of all though we need someone in that midfield with an engine, who can run all game.

I think Kenny will push on massively when he can understudy to Coleman, at the moment he doesn't really have anyone he can look at to improve his game.
When I was at Man Utd game I was standing in the entrance near the away fans trying to keep dry and noticed two fellas stood next to me doing the same, it was Seamus Coleman and Funes Mori, they both looked in good spirits so things must be looking up for them.

Last season was our second highest scoring season in EPL. Under Martinez was our highest.

Niasse has scored more goals this season that what pienAar, osman, graveson and naismith averaged in the last 5years with us. All between 2 and 4.

We all look at the past with rosy coloured glasses Degsy. You seem to just ignore all of the facts I've put up over the years about who scored what and which players were more productive.

Personally I blame the negative tactics of Moyes. However, all we have are the facts and actual events.
