Can any of the Eds please explain why most Everton signings seem to be a huge drawn out process.
Are we a bit naive when it come mea to announcing our interest. Maybe the club should just stay quiet until deal in last stages.
Sigurdsson Sandro last window and now Tolson this window.

FYI - I promosed myself I wouldn't check the transfer news every 2 mins as I "spoilt" last years holiday in Greece apparently checking for Sandro signing in the summer.
Looks like Tolson siffning has ruined new year (and any chance if sex) - he better be good! Hahaha.

{Ed025's Note - i must agree sobs we do have problems when it comes to getting transfers across the line...maybe were just crap at it..

I am not by any means saying it was down to Moyes, but in his time we did just sign players without all the fuss. This may not have been every signing, but in the main we just signed them and the first thing supporters knew was when the photo appeared in the echo. There seemed to be a policy change when Koeman took over from Martinez. Because even a few Martinez signings were done efficiently and silently. But now you are right. we seem to announce a signing. Then figures in the press appear that both clubs announce. EFC's figure is often way above what the other club says. I find it very weird.

Do you not think fans of all clubs think that? You do not follow their transfer dealings so it is hard to compare.
For example how long is it taking Chelsea to secure Barkley?

Doesn’t seem many clubs have the sissiko problem or the Giroud carry on. We could have had Sigurdson a month earlier rather than getting him a month after he was training alone and not match fit.

If you are going to sell lakaku then most clubs would have a deal done or kept him until a deal was done rather than panicking all summer.

Valencia signing 2 years ago was awful.

Barkley not going to Chelsea was purely down to Ross. You watch how quick the deal gets done this time.

Maybe we are just a bit more classy when it comes to dealing with people we are selling.

Lakaku Arteta Stones Rodwell Rooney all left pretty quick once money agreed. None of them were dragged out.

I remember the Harry Catterick days when a player had made 3 appearances and Harry was still denying we had any interest.
