These are desperate times but I am glad that fans don't get a say in running the club. To read posts on here you'd think we could just have waved a wad of cash and had Simeone in weeks ago, as if top managers have to jump when Everton say we want them. "Still in the champs league? It's been incredibly frustrating and it's getting scary but for God's sake let's show some balls and not keep on constantly whinging. None of us know what's going on behind the scenes. We tried to get Silva to the point where we were going to be reported to the FA. They haven't (yet) settled for a second-rate manager just because it's easy to get one quickly. Shaktar has a champs league match a week tomorrow. They may still qualify from the group but it's likely they'll just be pipped by Napoli. If our board think Fonseca might be available after that, it would be blind panic to appoint Sam this week on a 3 year contract with a big compo clause. If you think he's going to sign just until the end of the season, you're deluded. Yes it's a risk waiting a few days for a better manager but realistically, even if Fonseca would come, his club are not going to release him for any fee before that City game next week. I would rather have Fonseca next week than Sam today. No contest. If he doesn't come, that doesn't mean they screwed up, they just took a chance that didn't come off. There are no guarantees and there are no easy answers.

May not like the news, however if it’s what it takes to keep us safe then so be it.

Hopefully Coleman, Bolasi, and Barkley all fit In 2 weeks and we can start our season again.
