I'm seeing and hearing a lot of supporters wanting Rhino to be given a chance if we do get rid of RK. I think he is doing a great job with the U23's and I love the fact that he is a massive blue but I'm not too keen on him being given the reigns for the senior squad. How many ex-players from any club, who have none or little experience of managing in the proper leagues, actually make a success of being in control? Giggs and Shearer spring to mind, two great players for their boyhood clubs who failed in their attempts of managing in the premier league. There are probably more to add to that list. If Rhino, or Dunc for that matter, have aspirations of becoming Everton manager then they need to learn their trade first and foremost. Whether that be starting further down the ladder and gaining experience or, if RK is relieved of his duties, by becoming assistant to the next manager and learning the ropes from them. Either way, the stakes are very high to throw in a novice and expect them to perform miracles and break into the top four. I understand the romantic notion but I fear he would be on a hiding to nothing.

Well I would be happy if Unsworth was given Koeman's brother's job if Koeman is staying since I fail to see what the brother brings to the table. Would give Unsworth the experience and with Ferguson they could replace a "YES" man with two Evertonians who would not be frightened to let Koeman know when he was making the wrong decisions. Will not happen since Koeman and his brother are a double act.

In my time watching Everton we have only won the league or a cup with ex players. Harry Catterick, Howard Kendall and Joe Royale with Colin Harvey winning the Charity Shield, Granted they learned their trade away from Goodison but there is no reason why Rhino can't make the step up, Ex player, loves and knows the club inside out, so its Rhino for me.

That's a long way in the past, 1995 last trophy 22 years ago, the premier league has changed a lot and so has the pressure on clubs, players and managers.
I would not want to see Big Dunc or Unsy fall from grace in a managerial role they are not ready for, I would think Alan Stubbs is more qualified if you went down this route, U23's to senior level is a massive step!

He has a 100% record as first team boss lol. He is certainly an option if Koeman departs, but have Joe Royal along side Rhino again, like against Norwich. Big Dunc is too big a risk. At least Unsworth is managing players week in week out. Who knows, Lookman may get a game and Kenny and the like be given the chances they deserve.

Giggs and shearer were thrust straight into management with no real experience of managing.

DU has been slowly learning his style with our youth, it makes a big difference.

You never know if he can do it unless you take the chance.

Pep and Zidane both ex players who haven't done to bad, Zidane given one of the hardest jobs in world football and that was from the same position as Unsworth is at Everton. The way I see it is the players don't respect the man in charge and he has lost the dressing room, Unsworth is Everton through and through.

its a trick one, as obviously unsworth is not a big name in world football, unlike zinedine zidane and pushing it pep, but you don't have to have been the biggest name in football to attract big players, mourinho etc.

tough thing is its a big jump into a really troubled club, Barcelona and real were stable, although massive pressure, they had the quality players there, we have glimpses of good but mostly shocker.
