Just a quick idea for a thread - what 1 (and I do mean one! ) thing did you take away from the Saturday games related to Everton?

From what I saw, there are a lot of teams in this league that are weaker than ever despite all the money spent and that Everton should still be aiming to chase down the top 6 this season. There are so many closely matched sides in this Premier League, there will be a lot of surprisingly dropped points to come.

It's looks like City Utd Chelsea and spurs are still a class above at the moment and this league is getting harder and harder every year and if you fall behind you have some catching up do. We there's still a lot of games to play ed but it's seem we still lack a striker and you are only good as your front man they say.

{Ed001's Note - true, that is what has cost Everton, imo. Losing Lukaku without any kind of replacement of his goals has made the whole season a lot harder.}

To be honest, nothing this season feels any different to any other. We've got points against teams we get points from and dropped them against teams we drop points from.

Like always your start to play better from late October November because the new players have integrated.

The teams with proper strikers are scoring for fun this season, and we don't have one.

Conte bizarrely brought on Willian when Morata got injured yesterday meaning they were playing with three attacking midfielders and no recognised striker - they lost. It doesn't matter how good your midfielders are, they're not strikers and will never replace the goals scored by a natural front man.

Frighteningly, I see we've been linked with a January move for Carroll. Guess that makes sense as Coleman and Bolasie will be back by then so the physios are worried about getting bored.

{Ed025's Note - bloody hell windsor if he came that would really put the top hat on it mate..

I was about to laugh at that Windsor then the realisation kicked in that it might actually happen! haha.

Brilliant original post Ed001. Top 6 or 7 is still achievable. Along with BlueJohnUns post that we usually only get going properly from now on. Posted many times about that's how Koemans teams done. With us last seasons and the previous 2 with Southampton.

I hope this will happen again. Can't be guaranteed it will because so much has changed but I believe it can.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

Have to disagree nbtb. We had a great start last season and it was about now that we went on a run where we only won one game in eleven and that was against west ham.
