Ed2. You always had a go at us fans for saying we need a statement signing but les reed from Southampton said lemina was a 'significant statement of intent from the club".

Do clubs really care who other clubs sign? Are statement signings really important in modern day football?

I would much rather we bought players who make us a better team rather than fantastic individuals.

{Ed002's Note - I don't recall saying "you need a statement signing", sorry. I suspect you have gotten a little off key since,}

No. Bit of misunderstanding. Some of our fans were asking for a statement signing and you said things like ' who would this statement be made to? (6th july 2017) ' and 'what would this statement of intent mean? Are clubs really concerned? (19th Jan 2017)

Just wondered why you didn't agree with the term 'Statement of intent' when people in the game are using the term?

{Ed002's Note - Which people in the "game" are using it? Ex players? Footballers are typically dumb as a box of rocks. The term means nothing. If Stoke were to sign Kovacic from Real Madrid, would the Everton board gather to discuss it? Would Koeman be on the phone to his sister telling her how scared he now is?}
