Some good performances tonight. Davies, Barkley, and Morgan looked good. I really am excited about Lookman. Some of his movement is exceptional and the step up from league 1 looks a small one for him.

Got to mention Davies as everyone else is. He seems like the missing piece in midfield. He's a perfect link between defence and Barkley. He then stays with him to give Barkley another option instead of the usual give it to him and leave him.

Williams was annoying tonight though. His distribution was terrible. He kept giving the ball away with ambitious long balls when the short pass was a better option due to the wind. Defensively sound though.

Good point nonetheless.

I saw a few moaners on here. but we are starting to put a fine run together. I think 5 or 6 without a loss. A few runs like that a season and you are in the top group. We are not going to dominate every game just yet but it is important after thrashing Man City that you don't then throw away 3 points against a team around your group of teams in the League table. so we must not lose against the likes of Stoke, WBA etc. A draw away is an ok result. Performance. gritty draws are ok. Good summary BJU. I didn't see the game, but from what I have seen of Davies, I agree wholeheartedly. Dare I say an Osman replacement that we have been missing. but with better mobility. Not sure of his shooting technique yet. I would like to see him poponein from outside the box. then we have a real fine player.

He has Osmans balls Degsy. He was never bothered who we played Osman he just thought we are going to beat you.

I think this lad can go a long way and even more impressively he's got a few mates around his age who are likely to join him on his journey.

This season for me is a bit of a dead rubber but without the pressure of most other teams we can still achieve something. Even if it's just the promise of us taking a step up next season and genuinely challenging for things.

I loved Osman but Davies is much better he will be international for many years I would think.
Davies can be really great, I just hope we can hold onto him with Moshiri being around.

I agree milomj. Osman was tricky and created assists regularly but never had pace nor an engine. Davies has both. He is also still growing at that age, so in all probability will be quicker and stronger as time goes on. I don't know what his shooting is like (Osman had a decent shot) but if he has anything of a decent shot, he will become some player. Yes I expect him to be in the England team soon. I expect other topclubs to be in for him. let's hope he has more loyalty than a certain other player who was an Evertonian and a bit of patience while we get back up there.
