Getting really fed up with this constant Barkley baiting. He is still head and shoulders our best midfielder above anyone else in the squad. And as supporters we should be cheering for him, not slagging him off all the time. I mean people now saying we should get Hughes from Derby? He's not close to Barkleys level .
I've said it before if he goes to the Spuds it will be our loss and their gain. If you must slag off any of our players then pick on those who don't give a rats arse for the club (there are enough of them) .
As with Lukaku we moan about them because we rely on them so much, more than any others. So think about that next time you want to have a moan, take a deep breath and cheer them on, come on we are EFC .
Happy New Year (hopefully) .

It amazes me Woburn that the fans have basically battered this lads confidence to a degree that his performances are severly affected especially at home.

I've put this up before but last season he contributed to more goals and assists than any Everton midfielder since 1986. The best for 30 years. 30 years. One more time 30 YEARS!

Yet his own fans remember the miss passes or incomplete dribbles. He now has a better manager who demands more and doesn't paint pretty pictures but instead tells things how they are.

He will get better and has already started to improve this year and I hope he stays. However, for him to get proper support from fans he has to leave as ours are blinded by spite and hatred at the moment, not just for Ross either.

Totally agree Woburn, his clearance / pass for Roms goal at Leicester was top drawer, and shows the lad has it!

Sadly BlueJohn we still have the morons who disagree, these will be the same ones who think Lukaku is crap and lazy. It seems if there is a bandwagon to jump on then they will be queuing up to get on.
Need to support all our players at this time. We are going through a lot of changes on and off the pitch. Surely people can see that, and that it is bound to have an effect on the team in someway.

You know what Wakka I bet nobody even noticed that. If you watch he takes a look before playing that ball out to Rom. But we don't notice those things because hey it's Ross, and Ross just doesn't try hard enough.

He's got loads of issues with his game, loads. He hasn't developed into that world beater over the last 3 years but neither has anyone else progressed in the side.

However, he has been the one to take the brunt of the criticism. He probably got more than Martinez last season.

I think Koeman likes him and believes he can be a world beater but that he also needs a firm hand to direct him in the right way. Compared to most players in the team he is showing more to his game than anyone else has added, like pressing and tackling. He's made more fouls this season than all but one of his previous years which suggests he is becoming more aggressive.

We will see if he becomes a great player but even a good one should be supported.

With more options in front of him he would not have many missed passes, he collects the ball and can't drive forward as other than Lukaku there is no options.
Our movement off the ball in the final third is awful at best, even Rom is having to come out wide or to the d to collect the ball as he is so isolated.

I say judge Ross when he has quality around him and in front of him and the haters (mainly the half pissed fellas in the Gladwys who turn up late and leave early) will just find another scapegoat as they go the game to moan and pick faults, not to support the team.

Agree with all above. The boy has some issues but should be fully supported. Felt so sorry for him when I saw that clip at half time from Wembley. He has gotten that much abuse the kid is a little bit paranoid everytime the crowd starts giving stick. He thinks it's directed at him even when it's not.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the lad get a run in the team rather than sat on the bench I for one wouldn't like to see him at spurs or anyone else but if he's not part of RKs plans then he's not going to get games.

Our pressure on Koeman for instant results after the disaster before him does have an effect on his decision making, he would not be human if it didn't. Barkley is a wonderful footballer, his confidence and consistency under Koeman will grow. Some and I am afraid yes it is the younger one's just will not let a Manager settle, Koeman said 2 years I for one believe him.

I can't say I have seen any of the Barkley criticism that has been mentioned. but the rule in a football club that I always quote is "get rid of someone when you have someone better to replace them. " As far as I know, we have no super attacking midfielders who are better than Barkley lined up to sign on for us. If Mr Koeman does have someone, then yes release Barkley. but only if he is sure the replacement is better! I for one have no idea which better players than Barkley want to sign for Everton. but I know that Barkley is Blue and wants to play for us!

He's wrong if he passes, he's wrong if he shoots, he's wrong if he takes some one on and hrs wrong if he doesn't, problem is the lad doesn't no what he supposed to do, every player gives the ball away, misses the target when shooting, but it seems he's had the big weight of the next big think and it looks like it's all starting to get to him, the lad has talent and is a good player, what he needs is the keyboard warriors and the supposed supporter of our great club to give him some slack, how can anyone play well with so much pressure, if I was him I'd wash my hands of Everton and move to somewhere where he would be appreciated and that would be a big big mistake by our club, and if you think any player can give 100% perfection football all the time, your a moron, who else can do what he does, no one, its all on his shoulders to make things happen.
