I, for one, am glad that most clubs don't cave in to pressure from supporter groups. Remember way back when there was a campaign (I think it was along the lines of "thirty thousand fans can't be wrong") to get rid of Howard Kendall. Our board stayed committed to their chosen man and within a few years we had championships, cup finals, charity shields, and a European trophy. Since then, IMHO, the European ban and the Agent Johnson era denied us the chance to become one of the clubs with the finances to succeed in the current game. It's only the stewardship of BK and DM that's enabled us to stabilise during the past ten years. Who realistically thinks we could have competed (financially and player recruitment) with ManUtd, Chelsea, and the massive European clubs? For those who want BK and DM out - whoever succeeds them at the helm of our great club - I'd say be careful what you wish for.

While I don't deny Bill has put us on the right track, I don't believe he really wants to attract new investors to the club, he enjoys being chairman of the club he loves too much, its an ego trip for him. {Ed025's Note - i do think he loves the club, and would be happier with an investor, rather than a buyer..

Great stewardship by BK are you having a laugh mate? We are circa £40m in debt and lose money every year, which in my opinion is not a stable business model. The lack of transfer funds given to moyes and his "24/7" 10 year search for investment/buyer is a joke. We will probably lose either or both baines and fellaini in the summer and possibly lose our manager, add to that an ageing squad and we will be in the rubbish in the not so distant future

Kenwright has had enough takeover offers to sell the club but he has ducked every bid. If he is the biggest fan, he would have sold up by now. If moyes goes then the board will get the blame

Is this the BK who would rather move our famous club to a cow field in Kirby (No disrespect to people who live in Kirby) next to a Tesco, rather than to a football stadium located in a World Heritage Site on one of the most famous and most photographed Water Fronts in the World, a place where cruse ships from all over the world tie up, a place where the most Famous Band on the Planets museum is situated, a place only 2 minutes from the city centre. This according to BK was not worth investing in.

Get real, we need big time investment and we need it now or we will be like Portsmouth and Leeds and a few besides.

Have to agree with the last post we've been standing still for so long for whatever you believe or not kenwright has been the man in charge. He's found no investment. Two failed ground moves fortress sports fund cockup and the parkend development apart from David moyes can someone tell me what he's actually done or is going to do before goodison falls down last time out he said goodison would not make the safety grade to keep playing in the prem so what's next if we keep standing still we will go backwards. Nothing but the best satisfies.

What's bill done to stabilise club were in worst debt, he's stumbles into mistake after mistake, no advance in stadium move, left behind commercially, awful sponsorships, how many CEOs have left no Agms. without moyes and tv money we'd be in championship. bill kenwright is a blaggard

I think OP speaks some sense, but I can't stand the 'careful what you wish for' sign off. It's so patronizing and completely disregards that the opposing arguement wasn't thought up without equally careful consideration.

If nothing changes at thecendvof this season of the next at most, we are in for it an ageing squad is worrying especially with no money or investment coming in, that's why I think Moyes Bainsy and Felli are off, there not daft! I am not a Kenwright fan, but my instinct is that he is not in control of the football club other than as a figurehead in his capacity as chairman. He is not a majority shareholder on the board so he is not in control 100% as people think. The people who do hold shares in the club are wealthy money grabbers who see our club as easy money and they are not in a hurry to sell their stake until an offer comes in that meets their valuation (albeit, their valuation is probably unrealistic) hence the stagnation. Just my view.

Right let's get this straight club is £40m ish in the red we need a new ground let's say another £50m and to allow us to compete at the top end of the EPL we would need another £50m at least so any one interested in us would have to shell out best part of £150m before what the club is worth and you wonder why BK is finding it hard to find a buyer we can't all be given a stadium for free like man city do you really think that mob would of come in for city if they were still at Maine road? all you BK haters should give your heads a wobble

The cost of a stadium to Sheik Mansur, or what ever his name is, is peanuts. He has spent enough money on players wages alone to build two or three stadiums.

It was never about the Stadium it was always about the so called project. I will admit having a Stadium in place was helpful but was not the primary reason he bought City.

If you look at the development around Eastland's that is going on you will see the long term project that is being put in place. The money he is spending there is unbelievable.

One other thing, where do you get 50 mil for a stadium from. Try 300 mil and that will only get you a half decent one.

The club needs investment we have had a price freeze on are season tickets. if you want more cash going into the club we need to be paying more for tickets not like £20 for adult tickets and £5 for kids tickets for the fa cup. we should be paying more. I hear all the moaning going on but how many on here buy food and stuff in the ground. all that cash goes to the club aswell as the ticket they sell for £1 ermmm how many of you buy them. then there's the everton programme they are not selling many think about it you want cash going into the club put your money were your mouth is and think when you go into the ground on tuesday with your chippy tea and you bottle of pop from the shops and walk past the ticket sellers and programme sellers well that's my rant over with have a great night tuesday and coyb.

I often sit at Goodison worrying as much about Neville's tendency to sky a simple pass as whether Everton are a "stable business model". FFS - no wonder people suspect the game's lost its roots. Every blackberry carrying person in a quilted jacket who drives a jeep thinks he's got more business acumen than Kenwright (who's (a) an Evertonian and (b) from the area).

Real point is that, yet again, Everton have failed to move on from previous seasons. Bill Kenwright - and he's said it many many times - wants substantial investment to help Everton achieve more. In turn, David Moyes has said that with substantial investment he could achieve more on the pitch. Until something changes, we're left with the same old same old. It's more likely that David Moyes will leave than fresh investment coming in and maybe that's not such a bad thing for everyone. I'm sure some of our players would be revitalised by a new, less cautious, philosophy. I want Everton to be the team that disproves the theory that money buys success, but at the moment (and the seasons seem to be flashing by all too quickly) we look (at best) like a bottom half side on a strict budget.

People making it out that £40 mill debt means we're in trouble? that's a relatively low amout of debt in terms of a Premier League football club in modern football, and as for Everton becoming more in debt, look at Liverpool, their latest figures show they've gone up to £80 odd million debt! We're not in trouble, we are a fairly financially stable club, we just don't have much left over for transfers.
I can also understand some of the arguments such as kenwright not selling up. Whilst I can empathise with his philosophy of "finding the right buyer", it has been a good 10 years of "24/7" searching for a new investor/owner to no avail.
