One of the best transfers we have done in my eyes is Digne. He is our best player imo. Replacing such a great like Baines is very difficult but he has smashed it. The fee looks tiny in comparison to his value to the team. He is an absolutely incredible player and wouldn't look out of place at City for me. What a signing that was. He puts in a graft, looks passionate, very good defensively, technically excellent, a set piece specialist and a serious attacking threat down the left side. The PERFECT Baines replacement. I love him.

I don’t think you’ll get many fans disagreeing with that one Blue-tit. Quite sure we’ll be adding Delph to that list after a run of games as well. I still can’t believe he cost us under 10 million. I seriously don’t want to jinx anything but I can honestly see a comfortable win for us on Sunday with Wolves just starting they’re second season syndrome.
COYB.

{Ed025's Note - they also have europa to deal with as well peter so i think we have a decent chance for a victory mate..

I know the press love the kopites and rave about Robertson but Luca is the best left back in the league by a mile. He is a joy to watch. No doubt people will be after him but he’s played at barca, Roma, PSG and just wants to play football. Hopefully marcel has got a big fat new contract ready for him.

I think Digne WOULD look out of place at City
. our shirt on him would stand out like a sore thumb! 🤣.

His attacking threat is what makes him the best in the league. Robertson doesn’t do enough going forward.
I still think Digne can improve his defensive side and gives away some cheap free kicks in our defensive third. That is being hypercritical to a top player though.

I rate Digne highly but I think to be the best he needs to do more of what he did for Richarlisons goal on Wednesday - which is get the ball in early. As much as I hate to say it, that is what makes the Reds fullbacks so effective, but is really just down to better coaching rather than them being better players.

{Ed025's Note - i think he crosses just as good as robertson EFCONE, and his free kicks are better than both of them mate..

The way the rubbish play means Robertson and Arnold can bomb down the wings all day long because they have Henderson, Fabininho and the other guy I can’t spell all sitting.

{Ed025's Note - wijnaldum albo, none of them are creative but defensively they are a very strong unit mate..

Diane's crosses don't get as much credit because of his lack of assists. But considering he was crossing to DCL last season and Robertson was crossing to 3 world class forwards, that's where stats are deceiving. Digne is also a better defender with better link up play than Robertson.

Robertson is an absolutely cracking player but he has world class players around him. Defensively he has Van Dijk and offensively on his side he has Mane, the midfield are a solid unit and he has Salah and Firmino to aim for. He is in the perfect circumstances to flourish. I think Digne would be just as good or better if he played for the reds than Robertson.

{Ed001's Note - I think you are missing the fact that they are completely different players and Robertson is perfectly suited to Liverpool's style of play while Digne isn't. Digne is an excellent player but he would not be as good in Liverpool's style as Robertson and vice versa with Robertson. They are both in a team that emphasises their strengths and mitigates their weaknesses. Neither would work as well if you swapped them, it simply doesn't work like that.}

Fair enough Ed. My point is (the remains on the carcus haha) is that Digne would perform at a higher level with better quality players around them. I am aware that the style of play would be affected. Digne to me looks a class higher than the other Everton players.

{Ed001's Note - I agree.}
