Well lads, looks like Fikayo Tomori to Everton on loan like I said a few weeks ago.
In for a treat with Moise Kean, he's raw but you potentially have a 25 goal a season striker if he develops.
Best of luck for the new season. Should be a good battle.

If we have no chance of getting Zouma back to the club then I'd look to use our own youth system rather than give game time to other clubs youngsters. I've never seen Tomori play if I'm honest with you but I'd much rather the likes of Gibson or Feeney are given a go.

Cant see the Tomori one to be honest. If we want to be eclipsing the likes of Chelsea (eventually) , I can't see us having 30m+ to have on a CB and instead nurture a rivals youngster for a year, with supposedly no chance to buy, as Lampard rates him for the future (unless desperation kicks in)

{Ed001's Note - but you did that last season with Zouma, so why is it different this season? You are still building, if you can't buy the centre back you need this summer, borrowing one for a season is not a bad way keep momentum.}

Its different because Zouma was already an established centre back in the prem, whilst Tomori isn't yet. I would still take him on loan as he could be something special.

Yea think that's rather different Ed. Zouma had played plenty of prem games, tomori hasn't. And clearly there has been a significant change in circumstances with the transfer ban for Chelsea - when we took Zouma on loan there looked to be a decent chance that we could sign him permanently and that chance obviously reduced massively with the ban.

{Ed001's Note - transfer ban never affected the plan for Zouma though, it was the change of manager.}

The way in which I think it was different was it seemed Zouma was on his way out of the club. By all accounts, if he had another 'Stoke' season, he could've still gone. It's only because he had a good year with us is why Chelsea want another look at him. Tomori is unproven at this level.

{Ed001's Note - that is not true though, his year at Stoke was simply about getting him back to playing after injury.}

Zouma was also one of the better players in a poor side. Plus we could also sign more defensive cover if get Tomori on loan. And it could also strengthen the relations between the two clubs.

Fair enough if it was the change of manager but that is still different isn't it - when we took him on loan we weren't forecasting that the manager would change and that we'd end up just nurturing the player for a year!

{Ed001's Note - but there was never any expectation of a permanent deal when you took him on loan.}

But if his move to Stoke was simply about getting him back playing after his injury, surely it was successful after playing 34 games for them. He wasn't good enough there and they were happy for him to go out again. He showed his old worth back at us and want to take another look at him.

Tomori is a decent CB and done well at Derby last season, he may not have Prem experience but he has a season in the Championship under his belt, something our own youth CB don't have.
