Being reported today that Everton youngster Ellis Simms has no chance of being sent out on loan, Marco has plans to play him into the First Team this year, Well done Marco for giving the youngsters a chance to show what they can do at top level, Great Manager.

Lets see him give them a chance first, he is a manager with a lot to prove, so far he has ignored youngsters completely which makes him a poor manager so far.

{Ed025's Note - he will pick his strongest side DC and i for one am happy with that, you just dont like him mate and have a pop every chance you get which is sad really as we should all want the club to do well whoever is in charge..

Dark clouds - of these youngsters he’s ignored Who would you have liked him of the youngsters to bring in and in place of whom?

He’s played DCL a fair bit
He played Davies and even captained him.

So DC. If he plays the youth team and gets relegated by your wisdom he'd be an amazing manager.

It’s all about personal preferences but I would certainly have played Lookman ahead of Walcott.
Which raises the question why it appears we are prepared to part with Ademola but little mention of shifting Walcott who at £120k per week is certainly not value for money.

Lookman is a strange one but 3 managers have chosen not to start him so maybe he’s not as good as we all hoped or his attitude not right? Who knows?
Walcott I doubt we’ll be able to move on as he’s probably on a decent wage which given his age and form no one will probably be willing to offer him, a problem from our previous poor recruitment.

I agree Ed, I'm loving the positive actions by the club at the moment, it's flowing down to 99% of us supporters imo. I'm optimistic about next season. If the youngsters are good enough they will play, simple as that really. I'm all for giving the youngest a go but at what cost? They have to be as good or if not better than what we have to merit shot at it. I'm sure a few will get a crack this season though.

{Ed025's Note - yes kipper i can only see positives mate and believe we are moving forward...bring on the season i say and im really optimistic..

Totally agree Ed mate, Marco knows the team far better than any of us, he watches them all including the youngsters in training etc, i fully trust him to play which ever player he feels justifies a place in the Team, carry on the good work Marco.

{Ed025's Note - if he plays a youngster and he does not play well people will moan GB so marco cant win with some people mate..

Unsworth got slated for playing the youngsters in the dead rubber Europa games dc, who would you pick, he played Calvert Lewin, had Davies as captain at times.

So in regards to youngsters, would you drop Digne and play Robinson, would you drop Gomes and Gaye and play Davies and Dowell, please enlighten me who you would bring in and who would they replace.

To hand you could probs argue Lookman over Walcott, three managers have failed to give Lookman a long runout, so whether it is his attitide I do not know, but three managers have chose not to make him a regular starter.

So please tell me dc the youngsters you would put in and who they would replace in the team.

For me Lookman should have played more at least from the bench and for more than 5 mins. Dowell would not have gone out on loan for a second season. Holgate would have stayed and played as a centre back more than a right back

Now Kenny going out on loan, he has proved he should be number 2 to Coleman.

Begarme, ok I know got injured but was disgarded by are manager.

Please tell me how many youngsters got to at least sit on the bench from Unsworth teams last season, cannot remember may have been the odd ocasion.

Just a point Watford did better when Silva was fired.

I do not dislike the man, he seems an ok guy but he is just not a good enough manager for me.

I have to admit that the players seem to like him which makes me feel I am missing something but time will tell.

Dark Clouds - your name is so apt. You must be a joy to live with.
What do you term a youngster?
Cos I look at it and see him playing Kenny, Tom D, Richarlison, DCL regularly last season - all 21 or less. Add to that Lookman ( whose issue is attitude not age) and the fact that we had one of t (e youngest squads / teams in the prem last year - and you really are talking total drivel.
You want to criticise MS then fine, but at least make it close to factual.

DC
Lookman has been overlooked by 3 managers. What do you think the common denominator may be?
Dowell has been in and out at two different championship clubs. NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Beni couldn’t get a game at Wigan
Holgate still learning. Not convinced he is tall enough for a centre half but went out for experience
JJK - opinion is divided but for me he is not good enough. Was given a chance but didn’t grasp it

You really need to actually go to some games and watch these players before jumping on the ‘ doesn’t give youngsters a chancd’ Bandwagon.
If they are good enough age shouldn’t matter

But first thing is they need to be good enough.

Its MS first year in charge. He took over a sham of a team. He needed to play the best, most professional and most established players. He needed to impress and get across what he wanted. So he maybe did play more slightly older then when unsy was manager. But unsy knew the players. He knew all the youngsters as he's being their manager for years.
The players MS brought in have being awesome and young exactly what the team needs. I personally think MS is one of the best things that's happened to this club in years. He takes zero sh"t and him and brands are building what looks like a awesome YOUNG team. We need experience to get I to the top 6 and with the young stars we have we are building something exciting! Although it was MS breakthrough season he still had one of the youngest teams in the prem. And this year he will reduce that again. He's not a proven manager. But he's young and has years to build a strong Everton team! He's a far cry from the cr*p we have had in recent years! Get off his back DC, and be excited for what a special team we could have at the beginning of the upcoming season! With some of the players we have lined up we could be a force to be reckoned with for years!

DC - If we are to push on for Europe as everyone is hoping do you really think J Kenny is a top 6 player? Compare him to our LB Digne, this is the level we need. Digne is levels ahead of Kenny.
Dowell played well for FORREST but had a bit of a Dip in form also for 10 or so games which no one looks at but again who does he replace and again do you think he’s a top 6 side player which is our aim.

I definitely agree with dark clouds over Lookman. I felt Silvahasdone the job expected of him and certainly has got us to a good position for next season. You can see the progress which has been made. Reflecting back on the season, I do think it was a mistake to play Walcott over Lookman. Plus just the insistence of playing Walcott until nearer the end of the season was frustrating. I feel Kenny needs to play every game so for me it's either make him indisputable no.1or loan him out. Holgate would have been too much of a risk. I do rate Baningime and hope he gets a chance. Don't forget though Silva inherited a complete mess and has done very well up to this point imo. The club has been much better run over the past season. I'm glad that we have Silva but still do think he made a mistake with Lookman.
