The Times reporting this morning there could be up to £100 million of 2nd tier players sold in this January window, lazy journalism again I think.

{Ed002's Note - I can easily name about 10 players the club want to move on but I don't think there will be £100M worth sold in this window GB.}

Pretty sure if we could get money like that in a January window that would definitely happen. The figures are wishful thinking but I reckon the intent is there.

As we all know ed, wanting to move them on and actually getting them sold are two completely different things. We'd all love to move some of the players who are not in manager plans but as fans we have to sit and wait and support whoever wears the shirt on 1st Feb.

{Ed002's Note - One way to clear the decks is to price the players sensibly.}

No doubt that there were a good few players brought in under Koeman and Sam's that were simply not good enough, we will have to take a hit on most them and get the best we can, Mr Moshiri was ill advised probably by Walsh, don't think will happen under Marcel.

Have to agree Ed, better to lower the price, get some money in and free up the wage bill.

What Everton have to do, is not let any more go out on loan who we want rid of, take a loss and get them shifted out.

Thought the appointment of silva we would be going forward but looks like we going backwards out of the whole team I’d probably keep half rest get rid start again but decent players not has been a or rubbish way our transfers have been over last few seasons nothing to shout about how many players can everyone see we get by transfer window shuts I’ll start 1if we lucky.

Not just about pricing the players sensibly. The issue is the ridiculous wages paid by Koeman, Walsh and Fat SAM. Players won’t want to move on from those contracts as most are so rubbish they have no chance of getting a similar contract elsewhere.
This season is about players having a good go in FA Cup ( we pray) , about some players learning how Silva does things, about Silva seeing who is up to the task and who is not and plan for a busy summer of ins and outs.
Imagine a tradesman needing a hammer but having a toolbox of screwdrivers and pliers. That’s where we are.
Hammers are better priced in the summer.
COYB.

{Ed025's Note - love that analogy dave..quality mate..

But surely the tradesman would get at least 1 hammer in as soon as possible so he can work till summer, lol.

{Ed025's Note - maybe we just have too many tools spikey.. :)

we certain;y do ed.

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear the coaches didn't agree the prices paid for players.}

Depends if anyone is selling the hammer you want!
At a price you willing / able to pay.

Cos nobody wants to buy our spare screwdrivers.

Whilst I accept the coaches may not agree the prices paid for players, that would be the DoF who i also mention, i am sure they have varying degrees of input as to how important a player is to their plans, and thus a decision on how much we pay TF fee wise / wages.
I think the managers input will be less so under Brands who has his own plan / strategy and whether that is with Silva or A. N. other he will stick to it.

Walsh unfortunately was like a fat kid in a sweet shop who just found £50 and wants to but everything that takes his fancy.
