Still reading today Niasse wants out with Galatasaray interested, only a bit player for us and as much as we love him not really good enough for me, keep it up Marcel your doing a good job.

There was a similar thread below. They are trying to trim the squad so in that case for me Niasse is one of those we could manage without as there are numerous players in the squad who could do as good of a job.

That's not taking away from his contribution. A massive inspiration for how he dealt with the horrific treatment he received. If only every player at the club had his determination and will power last season then the club would of been a lot better off.

NBTB, While respecting your opinion, who are the numerous players at the Club that can do as good a job as Niasse? Certainly not Ricky - Lookman probably leaving so can we really sacrifice width to bring Ricky inside. Siggy - We need him where he is, finally we have a coach who knows how to use Siggies undoubted abilities. DCL is still a work in progress for me, he is going to be some player but needs a little more time. Yes he seems to run around like a headless chicken but then it is really hard to refute that he is hard to knock off the ball and has a very good record (when he plays) and for someone who apparently does not know what he is doing, certainly appears to make a habit of turning up at the right time in the right place. Keep Niasse until the January Window would be the right call.

He is third choice, why poeple are bothered about him being third choice amazes me. It really does. He makes an impact and can score goals. I don't see why people have a problem with him and we can't buy anyone else atm. This topic perplexes me.

No problem Blue-tit just my opinion we can manage without him. You think we should keep him. Fair enough. You could very well be right. No one be happier than me if Niasse scores in the next couple of games.

Hey ktf1950. Its just my opinion but thank you for the respect. Right back at ya.

I know Niasse is kind of a fan favourite as he raised himself from the ashes and fair play to him. He has a nack for goals. No doubt about it.

The other players that could fill in if Tosun and DCL get injured are Walcott, Ricky as you mentioned, Lookman who may stay, Bernard who people seem to have forgotten we have signed.

These four quality players have to be accommodated also. They are vying for two positions. I can't see any of them sticking around if they don't get game time. I would much prefer keep hold of all these 4 than Niasse. Yes they may not be out n out strikers but what are the chances that Niasse will play much?

As mentioned any of these 4 players could fill in for the limited amount of games or substitutions that Niasse will appear in. Then ya also have the option of Sandro.

That's seven players who can potentially fill in the role for Niasse. Not ideal but imho they are more than capable of doing a job. There is endless amount if different set ups that could be arranged to get the best out of those players.

Personally I want to see DCL get proper chances and Walcott, Ricky, Lookman and Bernard's desire to play given a chance. I feel they are top players who would have a good future if they get good game time. I'd preper Niasse didn't take the place of those last 5 I mentioned along with Tosun. I just value those 6 players more than Niasse and possibly Sandro. He also deserves a chance imho.

I obviously respect your opinion ktf1950. Each to their own eh.

Sorry gents but above is garbage. We have 3 strikers on the books who are worthy of playing at Prem level. Yes Theo or Richarlison could play there - but only for very short spells.
Niasse is not the best player by a long way but he gives you something different off the bench WITHOUT moving other players around.
DCL as pointed out above is a work in progress and doesn’t score enough goals. For all his faults Oumar knows where the net is.
Sandro - plenty of opportunities even in pre season but ZERO goals - so how can he be considered a replacement?

Keep Oumar TIL January. Let Marcel find one or two forwards who ARE good enough for us. Then if he wishes let him move. He can even take his locker.

Cheers DaveW1878 plenty of respect with that one. How many minutes will Niasse end up playing anyway? Imho very short spells so Theo or Ricky could play for the very short spells you say they could because Tosun and DCL are going to be picked first.
