Hi ed, hope your weekend has started well mate. Just wondering if you have any insight on a move for Digne. Seems a decent player. Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - It is interesting Joe, but I cannot really help much. I am not aware of Everton making any approach for Lucas Digne but the player finds himself in a difficult situation. He has made it clear that he does not want to leave Barcelona but unless he gets regular game time he will have to. Barcelona are financially in a very difficult situation forced to some extent by an entirely separate issue. They also do have transfer plans themselves but have little cash income or planned payments coming in that they can borrow against, so they are willing to sell a number of players. They also have the need to move on at least one more non-EU player to meet quotas (Yerry Mina is one as we have discussed). All of this adds up to their need to move players on in order to do much in the transfer market, and left back is one position where they are looking to make changes - but it is not the highest priority. As for Digne, he is very much a defensive left back rather than a wing back - perhaps not really what Everton need.}

I can’t understand why we would turn our noses up at 25m for Tierney but chucking 22m for an unsettled Digne? Seems mad.

I remember ed saying for a couple years Barcelona had cash problems, how come they were willing to pay such inflated and risky fees on dembele and coutinho after the neymar transfer instead of saving it to ease the cash problems?
