This summer is going to be an interesting one for us blues. There are players to be moved on and some to join but the turnover of players isn't as important to our future as the DoF role and, obviously, that of the manager.

The entire saga regarding SA, although getting a bit tedious, should be made clear after our last league game. There will be a considerable amount of the fanbase up in arms if he is allowed to continue, me included, but we will have to bite our tongues and get behind the team regardless. If the board decide to give him the boot, their next appointment is vitally important to our future and they HAVE to get it right.

We have wasted a lot of cash since Moshiri came in and there have been many lessons learnt, fingers crossed these mistakes will never be repeated. We need somebody who is willing to be here for more than two seasons, someone who will buy into Moshiri's project and hit the ground running. Someone to lay down the foundations for his eventual successor, moving the club forwards. Haven't a clue as to who this could be!

The DoF role is almost as important. We got it wrong by bringing in Walsh to be the first ever DoF that our club had. He is one of the best in the country at what he does, or so I'm told, so we bring him in and put him in an entirely different job! The man is a Head Scout not a DoF. I wouldn't buy a toaster to make a cup of tea, they are two entirely different things. If the club relieve him of his post then I hope they retain him within the scouting team as that is where he has more to offer. Just because that toaster can't make a cup of tea shouldn't mean you discard it completely. Use it for the job it's meant to do!

It looks like Brands has agreed to join, according to a few media outlets online, which means we will be getting a DoF who knows that particular job inside out. That, for me, is a giant step in the right direction.

Brilliant post BP a sentiment that probably all us blues feel couldn't agree with you more.

The “will he, won’t he stay” saga surrounding SA is an emotional roller coaster. Reports seem to change daily with no journalist seeming to have any real idea about whether or not he is going, which probably means that the club have no really idea (which is incredibly worrying) .

Hopefully the latest news regarding Brands is correct and the snowball has started to roll down the mountain.

The lack of any firm reports of an Allardyce replacement though is worrying to me. We are linked with dozens of replacements but none seem to be done deals.

With the World cup interfering with the close season we need to jump out of the starting blocks straight after our last match. I just hope all the dominos are set up

COYB.

I can understand the club waiting until new appointments are signed and sealed - I can even accept waiting until after the final match of the season before officially making the changes - BUT if the announcements don’t come thick and fast next week, then I’ll wonder if there’s any clear plan - let alone any leadership of that plan.
