I'm really interested in this Ed02 related suggestion of Hoddle for manager and think he would have been a tremendous acquisition at the club. As has been said, It really is baffling as to why he's disappeared from club job shortlists.
I wonder if it went t*ts up for him when he was England boss and had that debacle with mystics improving performance or whatever it was along those lines. He got so much ridicule that perhaps clubs don't want that controversy. I personally believe he was just trying something new, mental improvement converting to performance gains, but it just spun out of control.
Anyways, he was a top drawer manager and no doubt could inject something fresh into the club which we desperately need. I hope we get to see him back in a top job one day soon!
As for Allardyce or Fonseca, I'd go for the latter all day long but do share most peoples concerns of him adapting quickly enough to help us. Maybe we would be safer with the proven option for the short term health of the club.

Hoddle has been out of the management game for too long now in my opinion. We don't have time for experiments at present. We have done that with Unsworth and look where we are. I would have loved it to have worked out for Davey but the mess and unbalanced side that Koeman has left behind has made it practically impossible for a good, young and inexperienced manager to get anything from the position. Although there are a lot that really don't want Sam he is the best option we have to stabalise and move us away from the bottom.

The reason he fell off the radar was for comments relating to the disabled. Something along the lines of his opinion was that we are all reincarnated once we die and that those who are disabled are paying the price of wrong doing in a previous life.
