Ed002: the only thing that's ever "nailed on" is Everton (and other clubs') fans wishful thinking when it comes to rampant unsubstantiated rumours on social media.
It used to be the printed press that "never let the truth get in the way of a good story", but now it's the fans who never let common sense get in the way of a good rumour - but, I guess by definition, a rumour is just gossip and hearsay rather than verified fact.
