I know swap deals are complicated and quite rare, so, is a deal, Giroud, Barkley deal a case of putting 2+2 together, or is their any milage in this rumour?
On the face of it, it would seem to suit both players, ( increased game time to go to the world cup) and both clubs to meet a perceived need in their respective sides.

Great minds think alike, for what it's worth jcw, here is what I was going to suggest, pay the extra £5 million and bring Siggerson in, cannot see Everton now getting a big amount for Barkley so as Arsenal want Barkley, offer Barkley in a straight swap for Giroud, then it's just a back up keeper and Centre half and job done.

Nice idea. But it's Barkley plus 15mill. Giroud is worth 30 to 35 million Barkley worth 20.
No prejudice against Barkley but that's what he's worth with only a years ticket left. Giroud is first choice national pick (I believe. )
Even after writing this it sounds like Arsenal are getting a bum deal.

I think 35 million is a little high for his age, but a straight swap would be fantastic, remember he isn't a starter and Barkley is, I no Barkley on has 1 year left on his contract but he's only 23 Giroud is past his prime Barkley is coming in to his.

The original poster claimed that Barkley and Giroud would get increased game time if they swapped clubs. I can't see Barkley playing ahead of Ozil.
The first responder said if this deal goes through all we would need is a back up keeper, a cb etc
I made a joke about that fact that Pickford was a sub last night so hence he was our back up keeper.
Really not that challenging.

How can we claim Barkley is a starting player when he was in and out last year and Koeman has said he's 100% gone? We're trying to sell him, other clubs aren't trying to buy him. Huge difference.
