Rejected! Swansea are doing their best to unsettle a player that already wants to leave further. If we walk away from this and buy someone else I can't see another club paying 50m for Sig and they will be left with one seriously p***ed off player and that will do them more damage than good.

According to Liverpool echo Swansea have rejected are second bid and are demanding 50 mil personally if we going to spend 50 mil on a player prefer it to be on a striker.

Is it me or is it starting to be a joke. I'd walk away. Not the only player left on the planet!

We have to look at who we can attract rather than how much they cost. The thought process of go get someone else is silly because players of that stature and ability are not coming to us this season. We need to understand and appreciate our standing within the game. It's not so high.

Personally I think we need another 9 although I have always felt mirallas could play there. Anyway we can't just go and buy anyone we don't even have European football yet. Let's just see where we are at by the time the window closes.

£50m seems to be all the rage! It's what they want for Gylfi, Leicester want for Mahrez, the price of that was quoted for Mendy and Walker!
Perhaps we aren't asking enough for Jimmy Mc!

wasn't aware we were trying to get rid of jimmy mc it would be very short sighted to let a player like mcca go when building a squad if we have an injury to morgan or gueye who would we turn to? jimmy mc is our best prospect of not being weakened by an injury to either of our dm's. surely we can change his training schedule so he is less injury prone and if we can't do that then it would be an easy conversation for the manager to have with him as to why he isn't first choice and he would be better back-up than anyone we could bring in given that we are now checking down the back of the sofa for 5 mill for the most overrated and over priced player on the market, gylfi. imo.

Supposedly we are happy to let him go and have quoted £25m as the fee to Newcastle according to the press.

Totally agree floats and Southern Toffee. Only problem is McCarthy might not be happy with that. He may want first team football somewhere else.

Svenny there are plenty of players out there besides GS. He is not the be all and end all. That's simply what I was saying. As far I can see we seem to be far more attractive to quality players this summer. Look how many we signed. Not up there with the likes of Man City with attracting players bit still very much more improved in that department than last year or plenty of the past years.

As far as I know we do have European football Svenny. Ours to lose.

there is a joke in there somewhere that jimmy mc would want first team football he spends most of his time injured would that change if he left us . probs not at least he is in a good squad, atm and on a good wage can't see any of the teams in for him paying better than us . he would have to accept he is injury prone and can't play every game. altho i believe he can change his training schedule and play more often. i like jimmy if i am honest don't want him to go he is way better than other options we have, as replacement for morgan and gana. give him improved terms to keep him just as important to getting players in is keeping the ones you have quality in this position would cost more than we would get for him. given that most players would be sold for an initial cost then a payments scheme. like i already said would be short sighted.

Floats your posts confuse me at times. What your saying McCarthy should know that he is going to be injured all the time?

Surely that's the only joke here. No player keeps going thinking that he is about to get injured. None of us are fortune tellers. As far as any of us know he may never get injured again for the next 10 years. The mentality every player poses surely. Just because he had a bad year or 2 doesn't mean he is always going to be that way.

Too hard on himself imho. Even the way he plays. Busts a gut for the team. Undervalued and underrated player.
