Hi Ed, do you know if we're going to pick up Enner Valencias option? Not the greatest of players but did well whenever he was called upon and worked hard, would like to see him remain as a back-up/ sub player.

Reflecting on last week, I think he was the only player who really put in an effort last week. He was run over many times, picked himself up, and got back into the play.

He would be a great squad player, and I like his attitude, but 12 million is a bit much. Perhaps we can buy him for 1/ 2 that to bolster the squad (no Niasse jokes today) .

I really thinking he worked hard to impress RK. I hope Valencia finds a place in the PL and has great success against the Reds.

Lest be honest. Valencia is a trier. But he is not the caliber that will move us on. If we want to make the top 4 we need better. I'm not having a go at the lad but he is not that level. So if we want top four, we need players that are out of West Ham's reach not out of their starting 11.

I think when RK said he wanted productivity in the final third he meant goals and assists. Although I thought Valencia was good at pressing, this was because he was introduced as sub and had the energy. Need more than that. Need craft and skill to break down these teams when we go behind, which was a main factor in our poor away form.
