A number of reports now saying Lukaku won't be signing a new contract. Disappointing and something of the Everton of old about it if true.

{Ed025's Note - reports can be misleading CT, we are still in talks but raiola is playing hardball and will be asking for plenty of dosh plus a release clause no doubt, great if he signs and a massive windfall if he wants out and im afraid thats modern day football mate..

Yeah I hear you Ed. It's a bitter pill to swallow. If he does go though I for one won't begrudge him that. One of the best players I have seen in a blue shirt in my life time.

He also seems to want to leave because his ambitions currently don't match what the club are able to offer (i. e. Champions league) .

He is going to be incredibly difficult to replace though.

{Ed025's Note - he certainly will CT but if he goes then we move on mate..

No 1 is bigger than the club, if he don't won't to be here, then best get rid and take as much as we can get.!

{Ed025's Note - i will have that shaun mate..

Be gutted if he leaves. However, our recent transfers have been really good so i'm sure rk and walsh have already planned for life without him.

Niasse could do a job given the way he's played for Hull. Not a 25 goal replacement but he's got 10 more games to prove us all that he has the potential for 15 or so a season.

{Ed025's Note - i wish that was true windsor, unfortunately he is a lemon mate and we will all have to realize that..

I know Ed, clutching at straws! If SW had signed him there'd probably be a player hiding in there somewhere, but given that Martinez bought him I very much doubt it.

If we keep progressing this season and can make a dent in the top six, I think we'll be an attractive option for some decent strikers. Even if it's just a loan initially for someone like Martial I'd be happy, because if they get goals and we start bothering the top 4 it will be another step in the right direction.

{Ed025's Note - the direction the club is going we will entice decent players windsor, we can now afford to go the extra mile on the wages front and that will make all the difference mate..

He has been saying he wants out for last while. The grass is not always greener just ask peanuts. A very good player but not one of the all time greats imo ctoffee. Get 70-80 m and move on .

I think we should all keep an open mind on this one, he still has two years to run on his contract so a lot can happen in this time.
I do believe that if he stays we can get into the champions league next year then he will want to stay longer.
More concerned about Barclay who has only one year to go in his contract and that is not very long to sort a new one out or we could lose him for nothing.
