Eds you heard anything about the belfodil deal collapsing? If so do you think we'll go back in for gabbiadini? Also if depay Is off to Lyon, will we firm up any interest if any in that Jonathan cafu?

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement over Belfodil with the fee to his club nor the personal terms at this time - the involvement of a third party was a serious mistake. Napoli's asking price for Gabbiadini is putting clubs off right now - so it will drag out until the end of the window unless someone comes up with a deal. Leicester remain very keen on Cafu and have held discussions. Having added a winger already that may not be such a priority.}

Think you may be being a bit hopeful with 4, unless your including potential youth players. Honestly I can only see 2 coming at the most. An attacker and a defender. Personally I'd be happy with that for this window. Especially if we can move kone on

I'm already very happy with the window, move out some under performers to make space in the squad for summer and let the kids fill in when necessary. We only have league games left this season that's only 17 more games.

Maybe one more player in, but I'd be happy to wait until summer when there's more quality players available.

What sort of third party was involved Ed?

{Ed002's Note - van Buyten as previously explained.}

Thanks Ed.

Out of interest what sort of role would he play in the negotiation? Presumably each club has their own people involved in the negotiation and the player would have their agent so what would be the relevance of including a third party?

{Ed002's Note - It is not uncommon for third parties to undertake negotiation on behalf of clubs or act as a go between.}

Informative as always. Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Agents and "representatives" get involved in all sorts of matters - some even get involved with the brokering of the sale of clubs - others have to babysit players. Two quick stories you might enjoy. (a) a Premier League player who couldn't drive had his agent organise the purchase of an expensive car that was rolled out of the garage when he was visited by the press etc. for interviews, demanded the car was replaced a year later with the latest model in a different colour. He still couldn't drive - but it was image. It had a couple of hundred miles on the clock. (b) a northern-based Premier League player who had put clothes in a washing machine but had no idea how to turn it on repeatedly rang his agent in the South East for instructions on how to use it. This was eventually solved by the agent persuading someone at the Worsley Park Marriott to send a housekeeper (or similar member of staff) around to his house to do his washing and instruct him and his girlfriend in the use of the machine. I will say that both players involved are English.}

Well if I was offered the kind of money that some of these agents earn I would go around that players house and lick his clothes clean.

{Ed025's Note - i heard that some of the agents go to you for a loan ace, but i dont know how true that is mate.. :)
