Everton bid 18 mil for bolassie Palace holding out for 30 mil and so they should! Now we've gone in with a low bid other teams will know what the asking price is and get in before us. This stinks of bill kenwrights transfer tactics to me. I've tried very hard to stay positive but I have had enough now this is becoming a joke!

Isn't that how negotiations start? You make a bid, the other team either take it or tell you how much he's worth to them so you haggle some more until you reach an agreement. Nothing to freak out about.

He's the kind of player we can currently attract and would improve us, I say pay up. We could hold out attempting to bring in unrealistic signings and by the time we realise they're not interested he could be gone.

They are not amateurs. I'm sure they anticipated this happening and there is one reason or another about how or why they are going about it in such a way.

They know what they are at.

Just a tad quick on your judgement there Mal1966. Hasn't been a competitive game played yet under new owner and your writing him off already. Doomed before he even starts eh?

I'm very happy with his first 2 signings of Koeman and Walsh. That's more than Johnson done and we haven't even played yet.

Nbtb Think most of this stems from lack of activity in transfer market especially when other teams strengthing around us but the performances in the pre season friendly haven't helped to they seem to come up with more questions than answers but agree the 2 signings look good the gk is defiantly an upgrade on Robles and gueye look really good had lots of energy and passes the ball forward unlike McCarthy.

Yes spud this is how our negotiations work but do u see any of this happen with any of the big clubs no u don't it is handled properly.

Exactly how I see it konehead. Forget who mentioned the microwave generation we have now! Thought it was a good to reference to how some supporters expect football to be nowadays.

Actually Browner big clubs do negotiate in a similar way. Take Chelsea last summer starting with £20million for Stones. Another two bids came and they still failed. If we put in another two bids for let's say Williams from Swansea but like us don't want to sell. Then it ain't happening. Not the clubs fault really is it.

I would sell Stones for cash and get Boney and Nasri on loans with options to buy but what do I know!

Totally agree with Konehead, people ask what i want for next season and answer is to actually enjoy going the game as last year was one of worst i have known. let's be realistic and begin the building (sensibly) of a PROPER football club.

Nasri? Ha! Pep Guardiola won't even let him train with the first team, he's so overweight

He's gotten shall we say 'a little rotund'

The position we are in now we ant afford to be haggling with clubs all the best transfers this window became apparent when the deal was nearly over the line yes ok Chelsea with stones last year I'll give u that.

Yes Browner, I have seen other clubs doing much the same. Chelsea and City have been negotiating to try and sign Rom and Stones from us all summer. They value our players at one price whereas we value them at a higher price, pretty much the same as with Palace and Bolasie to be honest mate.

{Ed002's Note - They have not been negotiating with Everton all summer - nothing like it.}

Maybe not Chelsea with Rom then ed, just seen Chelsea have not made a bid as yet. But we have been lead to believe that City have been in talks over Stones since England crashed out of the Euro's.

{Ed002's Note - Not that long. The first approach was about 2 weeks ago - even though it had been known it would happen for many months.}
