Sources from inside the club saying that Rom will force a move. who knows? But. What I know is. we are no longer in the position to be blackmailed by Prima Donna trophy hunters. as I said in my last post agreeing with Big Nev. It is time to make changes and get rid of those who don't want to be at the club.

get rid of him anyway , ok he scores the odd goal but his all round game is terrible , worst first touch I've ever seen

Well carry on talking about him like that and we'll have to pay them to take him off our hands.

He's a bit better than "the odd goal a game" striker you say he is.

He scores goals. Lots of them. It's his job. Only a foolish club would be happy to let him go.

When was the last time we had a striker who scored as many goals as rom, what do you want him to do come back defend then run up top to then score as long as a striker is scoring goals he is doing what he is paid to do. Leave the lad alone he is a lad and leading this team in a highlighted position by far the best striker we have had for years.

{Ed025's Note - im with you randa, i love the guy and for everyone who would like to see him leave let me ask you this..who would you replace him with?..and dont forget that anyone coming in will have to adhere to our wage structure!, so you can forget all these mega money internationals who are after a big pay day..i wait with baited breath..

A striker who scores the odd goal, who can you be talking about. Not another one of those that trolls the Web and then makes comments as if he/ her goes to all the games.

How many goals has he already this season, oh yeh and last and the one before, looks consistent to me and still how old again

Unbelievable some fans.

To be fair, he has the odd game where he switches off completely but if it wasn't for his goals we'd be in the relegation zone right now.

We'd be below Villa Gibbo as Kone would not be saving us mate.

Can't believe that comment about Lukaku. Should do everything in our power to keep him. As you rightly say Ed25 who would we replace him with?

On top of that who would we replace him with that has a better future ahead of them than Lukaku? Even if we had blank cheques?

Lukaku at 22 years of age, isn't it? Has to have the best future ahead of him than any striker in the world basically. There prob is an odd bigger name around that age. Neymar at Barcelona springs to mind.

I challenge anyone to come up with a striker the same age or younger than Lukaku who at this moment in time has the potential to be world class?

Very very few. I'd love to hear peoples suggestions. The amount of goals and experience Lukaku has at this stage of his career suggests to me he has the potential to achieve as much as any striker.

Someone mentioned his first touch. Yes it was bad last season. This season it has improved an awful lot. He has games where he isn't as involved as other games. Not entirely sure if its all his fault.

All I know is if the golden 4 Luk, Barkley, Del boy and Stones stay with Everton I have no doubt silverware will arrive to Goodison.

These players are only going to improve and are no near their full potential yet. When they do reach it I hope they are still at Everton along with other players that will arrive to compete at the very top.

I agree with most of that NBTB except Stones mate, i'm not knocking the lad as think he is great but if as rumours are City are going to come in with mega bucks i. e. 65 million then I would take it, keep Lukaku and Barkley no question, as I said i'm not knocking Stones but that is silly money for someone with potential which could be invested very wisely indeed.

Am I missing something here Rom is one of top scorers in the PL and he plays for us! Be bonkers to get rid of him. Most PL teams would snap him up so just be thankful we have him.

Has the original poster got our number 10 mixed up with our number 9, you know they put their names on the back of the shirts to help you!
Lukaku is the number 10 plundering the goals, who I think you may have mistaken for Kone who scores the "odd goal! " Lol

Personally I would like to see is resist any other clubs advances for any of our players! These should be exciting times ahead! COYB!

Fair enough Murf1000. I'd like to see us keep hold of our best players even if we are offered massive money. Only way we'll get to the top imo.

65m would be brilliant to strengthen the squad but it weakens the centre back position imo. Stones will be top class just like Lukaku.

I'm not making little of 65m just think we should hold onto our top players especially when they look to have huge potential and have 10+ years left to play.

Statistics can't be argued about and Rom being second only to Varley in the Premeirship is a fact but he is nowhere near the finished product or as good as he thinks he is.
Recently, there was a two page spread in the Daily Telegraph in which he exposed how good he was and how hard he practices being the last off the training facility each day. He also claimed he didn't need to attend video analysis of the previous game because he had already reviewed a replay of his performance. He then went on to explain in detail what he practises and surprising what was missing was the obvious weaknesses in his game specifically, first touch control and heading.
Also, his movement in and around the box needs to improve to allow team mates, most notably Ross space to drive into. All too often he demands the ball with two or three defenders around him and with his erratic first touch can only play the ball immediately back. McCarthy was the first team mate I've seen having a go at him during the Bournemouth game.
Of course every poster is entitled to their view and opinion but if we look back to the glory days of the 80's, we won the league decided to replace Andy Gray with Gary Liniker, changed our game to suit him and he scored 40 goals, unfortunately we won nothing. Gary, after one season, was off to Barcelona and guess what we won the league again the following season.
Is there a moral there?
Rom has the potential and physique to be a complete striker but he is not there yet.

{Ed025's Note - i think you will find that in the league scoring charts that rom is No1 and vardy No2 fancy, i really rate him mate and think he will get even better, i would not swap him for vardy or kane myself and think that aguero is the only one i would swap him for in the prem, but as you say its all about opinions..

Of course he's not there yet Fancy Smith. He's still too young. In another 5 years he will no doubt be far better in every aspect of his game. If he will still be at Everton at that stage I'd count ourselves lucky to have him.

In fact whoever will have him will be very lucky. Any team on the planet. Because more than likely he'll have another 5 good years beyond that. Best striker we've had in a very long time.

Totally agree with Ed025. He's second only to Aguero in the EPL.

Thanks Ed, I wasn't advocating selling Rom, merely pointing out how he could fully realise his potential. Incidentally Vardy has scored 19 goals with Rom and Kane second on 16.
