Eto'o has apparently agreed an 18 month loan deal to Sampdoria, which would play out his entire contract with us. If it's true, it kind of begs the question 'why did we sign him in the first place?'.

I'd love to see i'm stay and think he is important to us, so why sign him if we are going to let him go 6 months later.

{Ed025's Note - good question AB..

I have also been told this by someone who is close to the team. I was shocked as Eto seems such a good guy, but if its true ship him out now and get the team spirit back.

{Ed025's Note - if its true...i agree kipper..

I've seen this posted on various websites but didn't take much notice. If it is true then he has to go, nobody is bigger than the club, no matter who they are or what they have done in the past.

{Ed025's Note - i agree wedge...but we have to find out if its true yet mate..

Sorry lads but don't really see what he brings to the team.
I would much prefer to have Gerry back!
Eto'o seems to have this free role but he's no messi or ronaldo and I think it slows our football down.
If he plays, he should be a striker and stay up top but he hasn't got the legs anymore.
I honestly can't see what he gives the team.
If we could get a fee for him then I think we should sell and invest it in getting Gerry back.

Not sure how true or not this is but it is being reported in Italy.

"Everton striker Samuel Eto’os agent has vowed to keep working towards bringing his player to Sampdoria.

Claudio Vigorelli has been speaking in the Italian press about trying to bring his player from the Premier League despite Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirming that the club have had no contact from the Italians.

“The only uncertainty is the salary, but I am optimistic, ” Vigorelli told La Gazzetta dello Sport."

It does kind of suggest something going on behind the scenes, especially as no fee is being mentioned.
