Any truth in Chelsea offering cash + Lukaku for Barkley in the summer ed? {Ed025's Note - no mike..

Not true but it would be tempting, lukaku is a 20m player in his own right.

I wouldn't swap lukaku for barkley plus cash. I think lukaku would use us as a stepping stone for a year or two max and that's even if he would want to join whereas I think barkley could be a loyal player and stay for a number of years and help us do well

Although I rate Ross very highly there is globally a lot of players who can play his role, Chelsea already have several. Lukaku on the other hand is an incredibly rare breed that apart from Drogba in the modern era I can't think of another incredibly strong, quick and technically gifted centre forward, Zlatan is strong and technical, Falcao to some extent but beasts with skill come around once in a blue moon. If anything it would be us offering Ross and 20 mill not the other way around

Why would we give them Barkley and cash for Lukaku? Daft shout that Svenny. Barkley is a local lad and an Evertonian who we simply have to hang on too with the loyalty there. As Cheeks said, Lukaku would use us as a stepping stone for a european giant in a few years time.

I'm not saying we should or would offer Barkley and cash I'm just saying what the true market value of the players are. Anyone thinking we would get cash and Lukaku for Ross is living in cuckoo land

Just read that west ham on about taking £30mill clause off ravel morrisons head to stop potential buyers. Well I'd put £85 mill on Barkleys head to keep him at Goodson . If someone wanted pay that then that's different. Nick.
