Ross Barkley starts for Everton.

Hazza

1.) 28 Jan 2014 22:04:26
wish he hadnt

2.) Barkley should of stayed at home. damn!

27 Jan 2014 12:11:40
I have it on good authority that Barkley may be fit to play against Liverpool. He trained last week with an injection to get him through and Martinez wants to do the same on Tuesday for what I believe is a game that will decide the top 4.

Hazza

{Ed025's Note - im not sure he would chance it hazza..

1.) Personally, I can't see him starting but wouldn't be entirely surprised if he was named on the bench.

On a related note Ed (or any other fellow blues), is there any update on Gerry?

{Ed025's Note - gerard is still a couple of weeks away john..

2.) 27 Jan 2014 13:11:33
Gerard is back for the weekend, martinez said

3.) Although ie is in full training today, as are Distin, Jags, Coleman and Barkley. Pienaar training as well. They will not risk Coleman with Hibbo being available.

Anichebe is on his way to the hawthornes, deal is agreed and he is free to talk to wba. tv

Hazza

1.) Great shame, good Vic will there be any real Evertonians left by the time this RM has finished? Already got all the relegated coaching staff and reject players, he is gradually making us a joke. Come Jan with us struggling round 15th the rest will leave in an exodus

2.) How would he get through a medical?

08 Jul 2013 17:08:37
With Kone arriving, Jelavic will probably see himself falling down the order. I rate Vic more personally and think he is more of a threat, I wouldn't be surprised is Jelly leaves this summer, any thoughts?

Hazza

1.) Jellys better than vic and could score 15-20 a season if playing well as could kone

2.) Guys for me at this time jelly is our best attacker, now I know he did himself no favours last season but I feel he will come good, just rb gives him a chance.

3.) Jelly had a wobble. Twice the player of kone.

4.) 08 Jul 2013 17:42:50
Agree with second poster, jelly is better than Vic, Vic is Championship at best, a good game every ten is not good enough. Jelly will get form back with RM

Degsy

5.) It looks like Martinez is going to go with 1 up top, and as Kone is much better at holding the ball up than Vic or Jelly then he should walk straight into the team. No idea where that leaves the other 2 - I guess we'll keep one and flog the other.

6.) Kone is the sort of striker Jelly needs to play alongside - someone who will do a lot of running and make space and opportunities, have faith Jelly will score again

7.) Jelly will be back, won't have to run all over the place anymore, so can focus on getting that round thing in the net.

8.) I think we may just have a manager who may be bold enough to play with 2 strikers when it suits, Jela and Kone could just work well together, we shall see!

9.) Vic better than jelly are u drunk

10.) I love poeple who think jelly was asked to do suttin different he wernt doing in the first 6 months, poor excuse for a dreadful season, i'd still prefer him to vic all day, both not technically the best but vics first touch is shocking

MikeDeBlue

11.) Jelevic probably is better than vic but he wasn't last year no matter what anyone says simples. LIAM!

12.) 08 Jul 2013 22:12:25
Jellys first season he played off Cahill and was potent, last season fellani played of jelly? Now who is the striker. Moyes destroyed every striker we had

13.) My some bluenoses have short memories, he did everything right when he came, he had a blip last year, moyes playing him out wide, give him a chance, personally I want him to stay, give him the right support, he will come good again.
Bluenose

14.) Agree with post saying kone will make space for jelly to flurish thgfest

15.) Jelly is proven a great striker great first touch, don't know anything about kone but looks dynamic fast and hard working, but don't dare slag vic off he scored some important goals last season and runs his big powerful socks off great at holding ball up

16.) Mark my words Jelavic is class he will come good this season, he just needs someone to show confidence in him which I think RM will do, best of the lot In my opinion

Jamie

17.) MikeDeBlue, If you think Vic`s first touch is shocking, just wait till you see Kone`s.

18.) Jelly scored goals for fun in the first 6 months, that's was because we were playing the ball down the wings and getting early crosses in and jelly was there to finish it off, last season everything went through the felliani and jelly had to run down the flanks more instead of being in the box waiting for the right cross to come in, and the poster who said moyes destroyed every striker we have had hit the nail on the head, I can't think of one striker moyes signed who left a better player than when we signed them, the list is endless, beattie, johnson, the yak, saha (though he was nearly finished anyway), and now jelly (at least he now has a new manager to play to his strengths instead of changing his style of play).

I wouldn't get excited over a Deulofeu loan, not because I am negative but because Barca would almost definitely loan him to a spanish/portugese club

Hazza

1.) Hazza and fellow-Blues: according to today's El Mundo Deportivo in Barcelona, Deulofeu has a straight choice between us and Spurs; Barca want him to play in a really competitive league, and the player will decide when he returns from the under-20 tournament in Turkey. I think Martinez being manager might be a point in our favour. Fingers crossed because he's a s***-hot player, just has to learn not to dribble quite so much and be a bit more direct

2.) According to the news on this deal, Barca want him to play in EPL. The 2 most likely spots are Spurs or Everton. I'd give e Everton the edge as he'd have more of a chance to play, Spanish coach, and probably a system he could fit into more easily. As Ed said, why not us?

3.) Roberto Martinez is actually Catalan mate. deulofeu is Catalan too. They speak catalan and that is a point in our favor to be honest

Isco has been told he can leave Real Madrid on loan this hear, given the arrival of James Rodriguez. Madrid favour a move to the Premier League which could set us up as a potential destination. If so it would be a great addition to our squad.

Roberto Martinez has said in a ssn interview that top clubs are 'offering him' players on loan after seeing how well lukaku and deulofeu have done at our club. I was trying to workout which top European clubs have young players they would offer to us, I thought maybe Morata from Madrid but I don't have a clue, anybody know any possible loan targets from top clubs?

Hazza

1.) I can imagine other Premier League clubs wanting a piece of this action, but IMHO the European clubs seem to believe that at Everton under RM not only would the players get a chance to play first team matches, but they'd also be playing in a system whose shape and tactics is better geared to their development.

If you think about it, we have spent about 8 mil this transfer window (Kone 6 mil, Joel 2 mil) do we actually have any more to spend? And if so does anyone know where it is from? Quite confused atm

Hazza

1.) If we don't spend £20 mill tomorrow its a joke

I fear we need to bring in a decent striker or it could be a very, very long season.

I think Martinez may well bring Oviedo into the team this year, he has been improving and I think he will use him more as a winger than a full back. He could well be pienaar's successor

Hazza

1.) Got to say his touch impressed me the other day, plucked balls out the air with ease so ican see him getting more of a chance

It is my opinion that vp probably won't come, he would want major funds, plus would he really give up european football? I don't 'know' for sure, just it seems very unlikely

I think Ferguson is a definite, unplayable on his day. Rooney could well go in somewhere
